Is the Gate Opened for Foreigners?

The aim of the thesis is to present the topic of migration and integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic and to define a role of non-profit organizations in this process. The main goal of the thesis is to analyze a degree of the involvement of the non-profit organizations and their contribution to the integration process of foreigners in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis presents the topic of migration and integration and applies theoretical perspectives onto the current situation in the Czech migration and integration policy. It tries to introduce the development of the policy after 1989 to its reader and to describe its current issues. The second part focuses onto the non-profit sector, defines possible forms of partnership with government institutions and describes the current situation and the main actors. The third part of the thesis consists of the analysis of the semi-structured interviews with the chosen representatives of the non-profit organizations and the government institutions with the aim to define a role of Czech non-profit organizations in the integration process including any obstacles which might impede the deeper involvement of the non-profit organizations.
