My thesis is a commented translation of a text about Czechoslovakia between 1938 -1945. The major theme of the text is therefore the World War II and its development in regard to Czechoslovakia. The topics range from the war itself, sports at the period, resistance movements, to heroes and villains. As stated above, my thesis is a commented translation of a book Československo 1938-1945 by Pavel Augusta and František Honzák. Apart from the translation from Czech to French, the thesis includes a commentary on the translation difficulties and the methodology used. The whole commentary starts with a translation- oriented text analysis, upon which I made my translation decisions.
