Menclová, Lucie ; Vachková, Eva (advisor) ; Matulová, Jana (referee)
1 Abstract Name and surname of the author: Lucie Menclová Institution: Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Department of Non-medical Studies Title: The present of assisted reproduction and its effect on the quality of life of couple Supervisor: Mgr. Eva Vachková, Ph. D. Number of pages: Number of attachements: 139 3 Year of defense: 2023 Keywords: assisted reproduction, infertility, infertility treatment, quality of life affected by assisted reproduction, assisted reproduction centre, nursing care in reproductive centres The bachelor thesis deals with assisted reproduction, infertility and specific quality of life. The theoretical part deals with the problems of assisted reproduction, its history, development and methods, it is devoted to infertility and the examinations that are carried out before starting its treatment. It also focuses on quality of life, both general and specific quality of life affected by assisted reproduction. The thesis also looks at nursing care and the role of the general nurse in reproductive centres. The empirical part depicts the results of qualitative research, which was carried out in the form of interviews with the respondents. The aim of the research was to find out whether the infertility treatment affected the couple's quality of life and...
Using linear semiconductor detector for testing the properties of linear accelerator
Menclová, Lucie ; Nováková, Pavla (advisor) ; Koniarová, Irena (referee)
A basic requirement for all therapeutic applications of ionizing radiation is the high accuracy of delivery of the prescribed dose to the target volume of tissue healing. Each radiotherapy department must have in the quality assurance program developed methodology for testing the operational stability, which are reviewed and approved by The State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB). A part of testing the operational stability of linear accelerators is also a regular assessment and measurement of parameters of radiation field, which is done by measuring the dose profiles. The thesis presents the results of measurement and evaluation of photon beam dose profiles of a linear accelerator, measured using the line-semiconductor detector (LDA-99SC company IBA) in the automatic water phantom under the reference conditions and their comparison with results obtained from measurement with the ionization chamber under the same terms of reference. The advantage of using a linear detector is a semiconductor that consists of 99 individual detectors in one line at a distance of 5 mm from each other and is able to measure the radiation dose profile field in a much shorter time than using an ionization chamber, where only one detector output can measure dose point after point. Usage of any other independent system for...

Radiation therapy of non-melanoma-type skin tumors
MENCLOVÁ, Lucie
Skin tumors of non-melanoma type (particularly basal cell cancer and squamous cell cancer) include a large and important group of malignant lesions. Their incidence in human population has been steadily increasing. The current treatment modalities include surgical excision and radiation therapy. The advantages of radiation include the ease of application, pain-free administration and excellent cosmetic result. The goal of radiotherapy is a homogeneous dose distribution in the entire volume of target tissue. This distribution is affected by a choice of particular radiation criteria, which are individually selected for each patient undergoing radiation. The choice of a particular technique of radiation is affected by a number of factors such as microscopic findings, tumor localization, TNM classification, etc. Analysis of data collected in a group of patients treated by radiation at the Department of Radiation Therapy and Oncology FNKV during the period from 2001 to 2006 showed, that there has been a steady rise in incidence of these non-melanoma skin tumors. This confirms the importance of this topic.
