Occurence of Sabanejewia balcanica (Karaman, 1922) in the River Vlára in the territories of the Czech Republic and Slovakia

In the Váh - Danube catchment the species Sabanejewia balcanica was found occupying the Vlára River in the Czech Republic. This species was up to date classified as extinct. The research carried out in the Vlára River on the Czech side proved that S. balcanica migrates there naturally from the lower reach of the river on the Slovak side. The outcomes obtained show the significance of migration passability of streams for spreading and reestablishment of various fish populations.
