LAND REFORM AFTER 1918
Pačes, Ota ; Kuba, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lechner, Tomáš (referee)
The diploma thesis provides a comprehensive historical analysis of the relation between the state and the Church and the legal norms that are relevant to this issue and tries to interpret individual key provisions. It reveals the intentions of the Republican legislators to cope with Maltese grievances and the Latifunds, the efforts to redistribute large territorial units to smaller farmers and thus to start economic production. The diploma thesis also focuses on the consequences of the first land reform, which in the end did not fully fulfill the original expectations. For this reason, the legislators proceeded to review it, which is also analyzed in the diploma thesis. It also addresses the controversial question of the nature of ecclesiastical property, which in the past was in another position than it would be after the process of straightening relations with churches and religious societies. The thesis seeks to answer the question whether the concept of restitution of ecclesiastical property respects the concept of land reform.
The concept of bailiff services in the Czech Republic and their comparison with selected EU countries
Hadravová, Andrea ; Lechner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Mikulová, Magdalena (referee)
Since 2001, the legislation on enforcement has been fundamentally changed, on 1st 2001, Act No. 120/2001 Coll., Executors and Enforcement Activities (Enforcement Code) entered into force. The creditor has thus been given the opportunity to decide how recover his claim. Until then, his only possibility for recovering claims was through the court, but since this date he could acquire his rights through the services of a distrainer. In 2012, this duality was abolished and is executed in most cases by private distrainer. He carries out his activity for reward, which results in his status as an entrepreneur. And his reward has been a thorny issue since 2001, when the profession came into our systhem. The issue of this topic is also evidenced by the parliamentary bill, which tries to regulate to reduce the distrainer`s tariff. The thesis compares the current situation in the Czech Republic with selected states. For purposes of this thesis, I chose Germany, because there is recovery of debts through a state employee, France because this system is one of the oldest and served as a model for many states and Slovakia, for reasons of common history and amendment that came into force in April this year. The aim of the thesis is to map the situation in selected states, to find possible deviations and sources of inspiration for the system of executive services in the territory of the Czech Republic.

Analysis of usury legislation
Červenková, Tereza ; Lechner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jurčík, Radek (referee)
The project analyzes current legislation on usury in the Czech Republic and the financial literacy of the adult population. On 1 Dec. 2016, an amended Act on Consumer Loans entered into force and this project examines it. The project compares Czech legislation on usury with selected European Union countries. Czech legislation is similar with German and Portugal legislation, especially in terms of civil law. The most effective legislation can be considered in Spain, which explicitly stipulates allowed interest rate limits. Based on that, Czech legislation on usury should be adjusted. The research results show a correlation between respondents' highest-achieved level of education and their financial literacy levels. The research also finds that the number of court distraints (property seizures) and the willingness to borrow money is lower among respondents with university-level education than for respondents with secondary and basic school education. When comparing our findings with research by STEM/MARK dating from 2010, it is clear that the financial literacy of the adult population in the Czech Republic has not changed significantly since that time.
