Genetická diverzita afrických plchů rodu \kur{Graphiurus} (Rodentia, Gliridae)
LIŠKOVÁ, Edita
The African dormice from genus Graphiurus are endemic in sub-Saharan Africa and could be found in a variety of habitats from tropical lowland rainforests to arid savanna woodlands. The taxonomy and systematics of this genus are still unclear because no genetic study has included all known taxa. There are 15 species currently recognized. For my thesis, I sequenced mitochondrial cytochrome b from the most comprehensive up-to-date material, mostly from eastern and western Africa. Species delimitation under maximum likelihood and Markov chain Monte Carlo revealed the presence of 22 molecular taxonomic units (MOTUs). Phylogenetic analysis based on bayesian inference did not statistically resolve all relationships among identified MOTUs. Future studies concerning taxonomy and phylogenetic relationships of Graphiurus species should therefore include more genetic data.
