The level of movement activity of students of the teaching for the 1st st. Elementary School on the ZU PF Plzeň.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of detection of the level of movement activity of students of primary school teaching on the ZU PF Plzeň. Movement activity and its benefits, effects of insufficient movement that result in various health problems or diseases and general recommendations of prevention of the sedentary way of life have been introduced in the theoretical background chapter. In the practical part the author has done a three weeks research of the movement level of students and has gained the numbers of steps. The pedometers Yamax Digiwalker SW-700 have been used for monitoring, measured values had been evaluated and elaborated. The body parameters, height, weight have been discovered and the BMI indexes have been calculated for the right determination of the level of movement.
The prevalence of overweight and obesity at Secondary School Pupils in the Region Táborsko.

Abstract: This thesis deals with the prevalence of overweight and obesity among children in the second grade of primary schools in the region of Tábor. The main focus of my theoretical part was to get acquainted with the characteristics of childhood obesity, its causes, risks and prevention and the consequent problems. The main part of my work was the research itself. Using anthropometric measurements on 2nd graders in elementary schools in the region of Tábor. I examined body height, body weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, birth weight, birth length, and BMI. A total of 198 students participated from six primary schools surveyed. From the data, which was obtained in measurements, I determine that the prevalence of overweight was found in 13.1% of the total number of pupils. These 13.1% were 12 girls and 14 boys. The prevalence of obesity was found in 7.6% of the total number of pupils and occurred in 8 obese girls and 7 obese boys.
