Selected applications of mathematics
KRATOCHVÍL, Daniel
The thesis is a contribution to the topic of game theory which belongs to the field of applied mathematics. The work is divided into three parts. In the first part, the basic terminology of game theory is introduced and subsequently applied in conflict mathematical model situations. The second part deals with the history of game theory and presents some historical problems as well as milestones in this area of mathematics. The last part is focused on different variants of NIM games, their analysis and the search for an optimal strategy.
Interesting prime numbers and their properties
KRATOCHVÍL, Daniel
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce special kinds of prime numbers to the reader. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first, introductory, one deals with the definition of prime numbers, provides some basic information about them, and offers one of the methods for finding the prime numbers. The following two parts focus on special kinds of prime numbers, the former of them contains those kinds of prime numbers which are named after famous mathematicians. The latter part is concern with prime numbers which are special for their unique attribute. In the closing part there are some exercises either with or without their solution.
H.323 Gatekeeper
Kratochvíl, Daniel ; Forst, Libor (advisor) ; Obdržálek, David (referee)
The purpose of this work is to design and implement a Gatekeeper service (a server for H.323 RAS protocol) with an integrated H.323 proxy. Thesis includes also a H.323 RAS protocol tester that can act both as a server and a client. The application is implemented in the C++ language using OpenH323, PWlib and readline libraries and is designed to run as a daemon on the Linux operating system. Strict usage of the platform independent libraries provides the ability to run on other operating systems. Linux and FreeBSD were successfully tested but another Unices, Windows or MacOS X should be suitable as well.
