Land cover changes in Ore Mountains and their possible impact on rainfall-runoff process
Kratochvílová, Petra ; Jeníček, Michal (advisor) ; Královec, Václav (referee)
Land cover changes in Ore mountains and their possible impact on rainfall-runoff process Abstract Land cover changes have occurred since the formation of Earth, but increasingly, these changes mainly in anthropogenic characters, a big problem in many places around the world. It is, therefore, necessary to monitor how land cover changes, and its impact on individual natural processes and use these results of studies in preventing or fix possible consequences of these changes. More and more disciplines are, therefore, also examines this issue. This paper deals with the assessment of land cover change and its impact on rainfall- runoff process, focusing mainly on mountain basin where this influence manifests itself most expressive, both influencing the water balance of the basin, and influence responses to extreme hydrological events. The findings are applied to the upper basin Chomutovka in the Ore mountains where the thesis evaluates changes in land cover on the basis of aerial photos from 1975, 1987 and the present day (2010). Changes are visualized using digital vectorization and color differentiation of areas of individual land cover types, further processed into a map series and subsequently quantified. According to the results are established the major factors of possible rainfall-runoff processes in...
Variability of hydropedological characteristics in model catchments of Blanice River headwater area
Kozáková, Jana ; Kliment, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Královec, Václav (referee)
In this thesis are based on the scientific literature defined selected hydropedologic characteristics and is described their impact on motion and amount of water.in the soil and also on the runoff process. In this thesis are quoted methods that can be used for measuring motion and amount of water. Data obtained on several field campaigns and continuous measurement of soil moisture sensors Virrib was processed. Field campaign took place in catchments of Zbytinský and Tetřívčí stream, which are paired comparative experimental catchments. The continuous soil moisture was measured at three places, which differ in their vegetation and soil cover. Data Analysis was concentrate to evaluate soil moisture measured by Virrib, which were compared to soil moisture determined during field campaigns. The continuous soil moisture was measured at three places, which differ in their vegetation and soil cover. The results show that differences and similarities in the vegetation and soil cover greatly reflect on soil moisture. Subsequent comparison of two differently obtained soil moisture should show that the values obtained from Virrib are representative. But comparations of values discover, that in Virrib measurement can be found some inaccuracies. Keywords: hydropedological characteristics, runoff process,...
Runoff Changes in the Šumava/Bohemian Forest Region
Fiala, Ondřej ; Kliment, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Královec, Václav (referee)
RUNOFF CHANGES IN THE ŠUMAVA / BOHEMIAN FOREST REGION Abstract: The goal of this thesis is to the evaluation of possible causes of changes in runoff regime in the Šumava region from time and spacial point of view. The thesis includes research and applied part. The research part is dedicated to methods of evaluation of runoff changes and their possible causes in teh Šumava region such as anthropogenic factors (changes in the river network, dams, drainage, land - use changes), natural factors (climate changes, peatbogs influence) and disturbances (wind calamities and bark beetle outbreaks, floods). In the applied part there is an analysis of precipitaion - runoff regime for long-term time series of average annual, monthly and minimal daily discharges and monthly precipitations for selected gauging stations in upper Otava, Ostružná, Volyňka, upper Blanice and Teplá Vltava basins using simple and double mass curves and Mann - Kendall test. In conclusion the achieved results were evaluated, discussed and compared with subject publications. Key words: disturbance, Mann - Kendall test, runoff, discharge, mass curves, precipitation, Šumava, changes
Changes of rainfall-runoff conditions in the Upper Opava River basin
Královec, Václav ; Kliment, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Ledvinka, Ondřej (referee)
The rainfall-runoff process is a natural event affecting a landscape. There are many factors which make that process difficult to understand. The factors are closely connected and so we have to think about the wide-contexts between them. This thesis pays attention to the variation of rainfall-runoff conditions in the Opava and Opavice river basin down to the gauging station Krnov. In the last 50 years there are observed partly the influences of climate oscillations and changes in the rainfall-runoff process and partly the potential human influence. This thesis is also solving the question of testing the homogeneity of the time series. Some statistical tests, which were already used in other projects, were used for that. On the basis of time series analysis of rainfall, air temperature and snow cover is endeavoured to analyse the changes and to establish significant trends in each climate features. On the top of that there is made the analysis of land use changes and land drainage analysis, which is the complement of climate change analysis. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Evaluation of rainfall-runoff regime in the headstream area of the Blanice River with regard to major events
Kodádková, Iveta ; Kliment, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Královec, Václav (referee)
Evaluation of rainfall-runoff regime in the headstream area of the Blanice River with regard to major events ABSTRACT The bachelor thesis provides an understanding of the rainfall-runoff conditoins in the upper basin of the South Bohemian river Blanice focusing on the flood situation. It deals with the evaluation of significant rainfall-runoff episodes in the basin in terms of their frequency, seasonality and weather causal situation. The analysis used data from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute for profile Blanický mlýn for the years 1952 to 2009. Attention is also paid to physical-geographical conditions and their possible influence on the occurrence of flood situations. Described in detail was a flood in late June and July 2009. Keywords: rainfall-runoff conditions, floods, Blanice
Possible assessment of runoff variability at experimental catchments in Šumava Mountains
Kalkus, Jan ; Kliment, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Královec, Václav (referee)
Main aim of the thesis is to make an outline of possible indicators of runoff variability and options how to use these indicators to compare catchments of different attributes, based on literature review. Further is mentioned general information about experimental catchments and sorts of researchers which were made there. Applicative part aims at application of selected methods for central Šumava catchment (Ptačí creek, Rokytka river) and upper reaches of Blanice river (paired catchments of Tetřívčí and Zbytinský creek). Results of this part confirm some of previous research results made in the same locations. Keywords: runoff variability, runoff regime, experimental catchment, Šumava Mountains
Influence of soil matter and different land cover on the runoff process (experimental research in the paired catchments Zbytiny)
Královec, Václav
The doctoral thesis deals with the evaluation of influences of causal factors that significantly affect runoff processes in landscape. The research is mainly focused on the examination of land and soil cover impacts and partially pays attention to the effects of surface drainage and snow cover. The main effort was to find out the extent of influences of each individual factor on runoff from a different type of landscape. In order to find the correct answer, a methodical approach was applied to small experimental paired catchments where the research has been continuously undergoing since the year of 2006 (the presented results have been collected for 11 years of observations). The small experimental paired catchments are located at the foothills of the Šumava Mountains and they represent small area neighbouring catchments of similar physical-geographic and hydrographic conditions. The catchments were selected as the comparative ones where the main differences are the landscape and soil cover. Moreover, the character of surface drainage is regarded to be an important variable. In the catchment area of the Zbytinský Brook, there predominates the grassland which is largely drained by the subsurface drainage system. In the catchment area of the Tetřívčí Brook the dominant cover is formed by the forest...
