Home Automation with Third-Party Sensors

The aim of this work is to evaluate possibilities to integrate wireless devices for home automation in BeeeOn system developed on the Faculty of Information Technology in Brno. This thesis describes USB modules that allow connenction to these devices. It describes the communication protocols that the modules can handle and devices using these protocols. It also deals with FHEM system, its features and possibilities of communication with the BeeeOn system. A reader can also find decription of implementation of every module created to provide support of wireless devices to the gate of BeeeOn system.

Library of Compression Algorithms

The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to create the Library of Compression Algorithms which operates with data in memory. There is explained the principle of compression and decompression of individual methods, described steps and solutions for potential issues of individual algorithms and practical implementation of these algorithms. In conclusion there is the comparison of results of implemented algorithms with some existing programs for data compression.

Network Attack Generator

This thesis is focused on the study of the best-known network attacks, especially on those that can be theoretically detected without knowledge of the contents of transmitted messages. The goal is to use the basis of acquired knowledge to create a tool that will simulate the behavior of the communication in different network attacks. Simulation outputs will be used for testing the quality of security tools designed to defend against network attacks. The simulator will be used only for offline testing, it will not be possible to carry out real attacks. Purpose of this work is to improve the security against network attacks nowadays.

Asymmetric Multiprocessing on the ARM Cortex-A9

Asymmetric multiprocessing (AMP) is a way of distributing computer system load toheterogeneous hardware and software environment. This thesis describes the principles of the AMP focusing on the ARM Cortex--A9 processor and Altera Cyclone V hardware platform. Development of a OpenAMP framework based AMP system showing communication among the processor cores, documentation and future work suggestion are the products of this thesis.

This bachelor's thesis deals with an evolution of an application, with which the designer of digital systems can insert and connect components of VHDL entity easier. You can find an introduction to the VHDL language here and the ways how to design digital systems with VHDL. The reasons of using synthesizable templates will be described. Next part is a description of a design and an implementation of an editor, which makes it easy to design by an graphic interface.

Well Water Level Measurement

This thesis deals with the well water level measurement. The main aim was to design and construct a device using proper platform and sensorics for measuring which is used for measuring the water level in the well. This device uses batteries. The expected battery life is several months. The device sends collected data via network to the server. These data are visualised in graphic interface using a graph. The system controls the water level in the well and battery level of the device. When the limit values are exceeded, the user is notified by e-mail. Based on this information, the user can decide how to be economical with the water.

Server for the Intelligent Home

This thesis focuses on design and implementation of server for system of intelligent home. Main focus of design and implementation is performance optimization. Purpose of this application is to communicate with enter point of home. Task of this application is to gather and save data from homes. Storing of data is realized by database with witch the application communicates. Server application is started as service, running in background, from command line. Implementation is realized in language C++.

Approximate String Matching in Preprocessed Documents

This thesis deals with the problem of approximate string matching, also called string matching allowing errors. The thesis targets the area of offline algorithms, which allows very fast pattern matching thanks to index created during initial text preprocessing phase. Initially, we will define the problem itself and demonstrate variety of its applications, followed by short survey of different approaches to cope with this problem. Several existing algorithms based on suffix trees will be explained in detail and new hybrid algorithm will be proposed. Algorithms wil be implemented in C programming language and thoroughly compared in series of experiments with focus on newly presented algorithm.
