Websites in teaching mathematics focused on linear equations and functions
Kloučková, Jana ; Mošna, František (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee)
1 Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to create websites focused on teaching linear equations and functions and verify their utility from the perspective of pupils and selected teachers. Websites are one of the form called E-learning. Therefore, the thesis deals not only with websites but also with the e-learning. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is mainly based on selected literature search and analysis of textbooks from the point of view of linear equations and functions. The practical part is about creating own website and about qualitative research implemented at the basic schools in Obříství and Neratovice. The research was conducted through questionnaires, which were enriched by interviews with selected pupils and teachers. It was found that pupils and teachers consider these created websites beneficial. The List of the strengths and weaknesses of the websites, as well as the possibilities for its improvement are one part of the thesis results. Keywords: websites, e-learning, linear equations, functions, models of implementation linear equations
Molecular mechanisms of metabolic syndrome with focus on new hormones produced by adipose tissue, liver and skeletal muscle

1 Abstract The cluster of obesity, insulin resistance and other associated comorbidities represents a significant health risk for the affected individuals as well as the whole population. Chronic low-grade inflammation of adipose tissue is considered one of the main mechanisms respon- sible for the progression from simple obesity to a fully developed metabolic syndrome. The aim of our study was to explore two different approaches that could potentially ameliorate adipose tissue inflammation - therapeutic hypothermia and the adipocytokine clusterin. In the first part, we showed that a period of deep hypothermia associated with the an- oxic phase of cardiac surgery significantly delayed the onset of systemic inflammatory re- sponse induced by surgery. The relative gene expression of the studied genes was not altered during the hypothermic period, but was significantly increased in five out of ten studied genes (IL-6, MCP-1, TNF-α, HIF1-α, GLUT1) and decreased in two genes (IRS1, GPX1) at the end of surgery. We conclude that deep hypothermia delays the onset of local adipose tissue hy- poxia and inflammation. These results could partially explain the positive effects of therapeu- tic deep hypothermia on postoperative morbidity and mortality in cardiac surgery patients. In the second part, we examined plasma...

Integration of Foreign Children in Schools - case study conducted in the Christian Doppler Secondary School in Prague Abstract: The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to investigate how and to what extent foreign children integrate into the Czech educational system and what results they achieve in comparison to Czech pupils. During the process of integration, foreign children are faced with influences from their new society which they perceive in the context of the customs and traditions of their previous surroundings. This Bachelor thesis therefore investigates both the process of integration and the various effects and factors connected with it. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part draws from research of the relevant literature and studies. The practical part consists of both quantitative and qualitative research conducted in the Christian Doppler Secondary School in Prague. The research is based on quantitative data provided by the school officials and enhanced by interviews with chosen members of the teaching staff, representatives of foreign communities and majority and the school. Key words: foreigners in schools, integration, education, Vietnamese, Ukrainians, Russians
