Which one is the right one? Evaluation of buildings from the energy and costs saving perspective

The thesis concentrates on residential buildings evaluation from energy and financial savings perspective. More than 40 % of the total man-induced energy consumption is directed to building construction and maintenance. In these buildings, we spend majority of our lives. The aim of the study is thus to support the discussion about the benefits from new, both energetically and environmentally considerate building trends. Theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to ecologically efficient family houses and their distinctive features in comparison to commonly built houses, whereas empirical part compares these building types from the energetic and financial viewpoint. Thesis goes on with most frequent ,myths' about sustainable architecture. As a conclusion, the study aims to point out which building type is the most advantageous in terms of energy, finance, sustainability etc. Keywords: Sustainable architecture, Passive house, Energy savings, Sustainable development
The impact of environmental factors on traffic accidents - case study from Liberec Region

The thesis is based on theoretical foundations and data from the traffics accident rate. The data was processed by Geographical Information System (GIS) which evaluates the influence of the environment on the amount of the traffic accidents rate on a case study of the Liberec region. Theoretical part include the issue of traffic accidents in the czech legislation, specific traffic accidents, the theory of environmental influences on traffic accidents and assesses the importance of statistics with regard to traffic accidents, which forms the foundation for practical work. Practical part performed in the program ArcGIS deals with the determination of accident sites and sections in the district. Within the multi-criteria analysis determines the relationship of traffic accidents with the environment and thus identifies potential sites of traffic accidents.
A Study of Conditions for the Development of Community Activities in Prague Suburbs Pankrác 1 and 2

Community gardens can significantly enrich and improve the quality of communities life in large urban neighborhoods. The aim of this work is to find out how such community activity (mainly focused on a specific project, urban garden and composting plant at Arkady Pankrac business centre) would be accepted by residents of Prague settlements (especially Pankrác 1 and 2). The partial objective of this research was also the discovery of deficiencies in the area of community coexistence and submit a proposal for an appropriate solution.
