Analysis of the Impact of Problem Solving Strategies using UPPAAL STRATEGO
Karásek, Filip ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This thesis analyzes and addresses the impact of strategies created using Uppaal Stratego. The implementation of four problems, counter, maze, bitmap, and intersection is demonstrated in this thesis. Experiments are conducted on these models, and strategies are formulated. For the first three problems, strategies with a positive impact on the given system were identified. However, for the last intersection model, it was not possible to find a strategy that demonstrably improved the system. This inability to demonstrate improvement is due to limitations in Uppaal Stratego and the complexity of the model.
Analysis of metabolites produced by yeast colonies and biofilms
Karásek, Filip ; Palková, Zdena (advisor) ; Dostál, Jiří (referee)
Some time ago it was shown (proved, described) that bacteria can communicate and regulate a gene expression by using small molecules. This phenomenon is called quorum sensing. The same phenomenon has been recently described in yeast. In yeast there are still many questions about the mechanism of sensing via small molecules. Few works and publications have described the impact of some small molecules, such as phenylethylalcohol or tryptophol, on morphology on Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell. The knowledge about the impact of the small molecules on the yeast multicellular community, like colonies, is still very limited these days. The aims of this work are analysis of exometabolites produced by colonies of different yeast strains cultivated on various solid complex media, by an untarged metabolomic approach. In accordance with the result of the exometabolites analyses we are going to test the impact of the selected substance on Saccharomyces cerevisiae colony morphology. The third part of this work is about the construction of Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains with deletion or lowering the expression of genes which encode proteins that are important in decarboxylation step of the Ehrlich pathway. Key word: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, microcolonies, tryptophol, isoamyl alcohol, isovaleric acid, colony...
Chemical signaling among microorganisms
Karásek, Filip ; Palková, Zdena (advisor) ; Převorovský, Martin (referee)
The work summarizes the knowledge about chemical communication among microorganisms, focusing mainly on the quorum sensing phenomenon, but briefly discussing also other molecules with signaling function. The work presents fundamental information on quorum sensing and some other signaling molecules in selected grampositive and gramnegative bacteria and in yeast. It also describes an universal system of communication among different bacteria and briefly mentions communication between bacteria and yeast. Key words: Quorum sesnig, signal molecule, signal pathway, bacteria, yeast, communication
Zkrmování pšenice Citrus u brojlerů
Karásek, Filip
This thesis deals with the finding of suitability for inclusion in the newly bred varieties of wheat Citrus with is , in higher lutein content in grain to the ration for fattening broilers. Influence on feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio of broiler were observed. In the trial with male chickens Ross 308 were fed diet with 30 % and 60 % wheat as compared with control wheat. Effect of wheat Citrus to fattened broilers was not significant, but the relevance of the performance parameters influence wheat Citrus (P <0.05) was observed on the antioxidant activity using the method of free radicals (FR).
