Record of the Black Dragon Year (Imjinnok) : Between History and Fiction

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to introduce a Korean literary work known as The Record of The Black Dragon Year (also known as Imjinnok), focusing primarily on the characters who appear in this book. The paper can be divided into two main parts. The first part deals with the historical and literary background of Imjinnok, as well as its general characteristics and categorization within the genre sosŏl. The second key part of this work then describes each character, their different depictions in different versions of Imjinnok and also tries to outline the origin of these differences.
