Business Plan-Branch Office set up in Slovakia

The diploma thesis deals with possible option of establishing the branch office of the technology company in Slovakia. The first part is focused on theory related to setting up the business plan. The second part contains analysis describing current status of the company of interest based on the information provided. The proposal of the branch office setting up is included in the last part of the diploma thesis where ways the company could follow when entering new market are described.

Práce se zabývá oblastí obecné pedagogiky, konkrétně možností uplatnění absolventů obecné pedagogiky na trhu práce. Teoretická část práce nabízí přehled disciplín pedagogiky, vhled do historie oboru, přehled fakult, kde je možné v současné době obecnou pedagogiku studovat, a také obecné informace o absolventech VŠ a jejich nezaměstnanosti. Praktickou část práce tvoří výzkum, jenž zjišťuje uplatnění absolventů oboru pedagogika z let 1983 - 2006. Pro zjištění informací byla použita explorativní metoda - technika dotazníkového šetření, jejímž cílem bylo zjistit jednak současné uplatnění respondentů na trhu práce, jednak jejich motivaci ke studiu obecné pedagogiky na VŠ a také názor na propojení studia s praxí. Výsledky ukazují, že uplatnění absolventů na trhu práce je obecně dobré, přesto někteří respondenti poukazují na to, že s "čistou" obecnou pedagogikou se lze v současné době na trhu práce uplatnit obtížně. Propojení studia s následnou praxí ("pedagogickou realitou") považuje většina respondentů za nedostatečné.

Production and perception aspects of weak form words in Czech-accented English

The present BA thesis is concerned with perception and production aspects of weak forms of grammatical words in advanced Czech-accented speakers of English. The theoretical part first compares speech rhythm in Czech and English. Discussing the components of rhythm in English, it focusses on sentence stress, including the role of changes on grammatical words. Production and perception are described as observed in native versus non-native speakers. A systematic overview of weak forms of grammatical words is provided. Finally, the need for perception and production training in non-native speakers is emphasised. The first half of the analytical part, focussing on production, examines recordings of proficient Czech-accented speakers. It uses the data to present an overview of areas in which their production of weak forms and other connected speech processes differs from native-like. The hypothesis claiming that the more accented the speaker, the fewer weak forms and associated connected speech processes can be found in their production is confirmed. The second half of the analytical part is based on two perception tests, one asking the listeners to assess the level of comprehensibility and one the level of accentedness.
