Elaboration of the design of an educational trail around the Jordán water reservoir

The aim of the master thesis is to propose an educational trail around the water reservoir Jordan, located in the city of Tabor in southern Bohemia. The design of the educational trail was preceded by the collection of knowledge about the water reservoir and its surroundings, as well as a questionnaire survey. The water reservoir is a very important technical work which was built as a drinking water supply for the town in the last decade of the 15th century and is thus one of the oldest artificial reservoirs of this type in Central Europe. Although the importance of this water reservoir is undeniable, it has received more attention thanks to the event 'Restoration of the Jordan Pond', which took place between 2011 and 2014 and brought valuable findings. Thanks to this restoration, not only was the silt removed, but the action also led to archaeological discoveries that provided a new perspective on this technical work. The design of the educational trail around the water reservoir Jordan aims to introduce visitors to the Jordan reservoir and its immediate surroundings by walking around the water body located for the most part right in the city, not far from its historic center.

Intercultural Communicative Competence ICC Development in Student Teachers of English Language

The aim of this dissertation is to assess the development of intercultural communicative competence in student teachers of English language within a study subject Intercultural Communicative Competence taught at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Pardubice. Firstly, the terminology to be used throughout the text is defined. Consequently, relevant theoretical foundations are introduced, especially philosophical foundations as well as foundations in linguistics and foreign language didactics. These indicate the position from which we approach the discussed phenomenon, i.e. interculturality that in the current globalized world poses new demands not only on pedagogical practice, but on research too. In the subsequent part of the dissertation focus lies on intercultural education, the key aim of which is defined as development of intercultural communicative competence. Current trends in intercultural education are discussed with accent on the specifics of English language teaching and learning. The core of the theoretical part of this work aims to conceptualize the construct of intercultural communicative competence and to elaborate on its consequent didactic aspects, i.e. its development and assessment. Growing of "Klokoty" cabbage

The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is a summary of knowledge about growing, utilizing and usage of "Klokoty" cabbage produced by ZAS Dražice, a.s. Head cabbage is a plant which is well cold resistant, but sensitive to moisture and needs open and airy fields preferably near watercourses or ponds. Head cabbage is grown in two forms, white and red. The white type is more common for this region. It further devides to early matured, summer, semi-late and late varieties. These types differ in proportions, substance, season when the seeds are planted, and the lenght of vegetation period. Head cabbage is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, also rich in fiber, proteins, glucosinates and methylmetionines. All constituents have a positive effect on human health. Thanks to the nutritional value and the long tradition of growing cabbage in the Czech Republic is this commodity widely grown and consumed in fresh and processed forms. Processed form is more common and done by fermentation. The "Klokoty" cabbage is a white head cabbage of late variety and can be purchased fresh whole or sliced up. Sliced up fermented "Klokoty" cabbage has been appraised by an award "Chutná hezky. Jihočesky" and a titul "Regionální potravina" thanks to its quality and flavor.

The treasure of Týn nad Vltavou from the time at the turn of Middle Age and Modern Age

In my Bachelor work The treasure of Týn nad Vltavou from the time at the turn of Middle Age and Modern Age I study a little-known treasure from Týn nad Vltavou, which was found in 1970 during the reconstruction house "U Modré hvězdy" in square south Bohemia city Týn nad Vltavou. I describe history of Týn nad Vltavou and house, which was treasure found. Attention is also devoted to the period of Czech history, which could have an influence on the formation of the treasure. In short, I mention about personal jewellery, which originated at the same time as a treasure. Finally, I present the similar findings of the same kind.
