Validation of the tool for localization of symmetrical and asymmetrical faults
Šmehlík, Daniel ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Topolánek, David (advisor)
Disturbances in power systems that can cause widespread outages and limit power supply require rapid detection, location and elimination. Earth faults and short circuits, each with their own complications for localization, pose significant challenges to power operations. This thesis focuses on the validation of Vdip, a tool designed to efficiently locate these faults. The tool was tested in two simulation environments, RTDS and PSCAD, to simulate different fault scenarios and record data for analysis. These tests provided important information for evaluating the effectiveness of Vdip.
Localization of short-circuits on single side supplied HV line
Zíka, Jakub ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Topolánek, David (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis deals with the localization of unilaterally fed short circuits on high voltage lines. The first part of the bachelor’s thesis deals with the research of the localization of unilaterally fed 1-Phase, 2-Phase and 3-Phase short circuits on the HV lines. Furthermore, individual types of short circuits are described here with suitable procedures for calculating the fault distance and definition of formulas for individual impedance loops. The second part of the bachelor’s thesis focuses on the implementation of these formulas for calculating the distance to the fault location. The input values of voltages and currents were simulated by a simple system model in the PSCAD program. Subsequently, a more detailed sensitivity analysis of individual types of short-circuits was carried out and possible detection of when individual calculation methods fail.
Configuring and testing the faulted phase earthing functionality using the ABB protection and control terminal
Švec, Ondřej ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Jurák, Viktor (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of replacing the autoreclosing by the method of faulty phase earthing. The faulty phase earthing method is used for compensated networks, but the aim of this thesis is to apply this method to resistively grounded networks as well. The faulty phase earthing automation configuration is applied using the REF615 terminal from ABB and is performed using the PCM600 programming environment.
The measurements of earthing systems and the role of electrical soil resistivity
Capyk, Jan ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Vyčítal, Václav (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on explaining the concept of soil resistivity, applicable methods of its measurement, comparison of two methods used to measure the resistance of the earth electrode and a description of the measuring device Metro PU 193 used for the practical part of the thesis. In the practical part, the reader is acquainted with the results of measuring soil resistivity and earth resistance in the field, with their evaluation with respect to various influencing factors and with designs of earth conductors for high voltage poles for which soil resistivity was measured. The thesis contains plotted graphs of various dependencies according to the results of measured values and compares them with theoretical assumptions.
Analysis of the electrical power measurement system in the local distribution network Pod Palackého vrchem
Hájková, Barbora ; Orságová, Jaroslava (referee) ; Jurák, Viktor (advisor)
The diploma thesis introduces a detailed analysis of the local distribution system (LDS) Pod Palackého vrchem (PPV) in the Brno, parameters of power transformers and cable routes between them. The elements of the electrical network that are influencing the balance of reactive power are described along with its sources and appliances. In the next part is defined the present concept of long-term measurement in the LDS by using current and voltage sensors. This part deals with calculations of power losses in the power transformers and the cable lines together with uncertainties concerning power measurement in the field of energetics. The essential part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the temporary measurement implementation in the LDS, data processing along with the comparison of measured values from temporary measurement with values from permanent measurement. In conclusion, the error of the system is determined.
Reconstruction of a transformer station with a substation for auxiliary systems
Novický, Marek ; Wasserbauer, Vojtěch (referee) ; Jurák, Viktor (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the premises of the Staré Brno heating plant, where there are two 22 / 0,4 kV transformers used to supply the heating plant's auxiliary system. The thesis deals with theoretical areas related to the planned design. After theoretical section is following a detailed description of the recent state of HV and LV substations and transformers. The scope of work is the design of new transformers, HV substations and LV substations, central compensation. At the end of the thesis is discussed the economic side of transformers.
Dynamic loading of overhead lines
Šimák, Josef ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is focused on the introduction of equipment and principles in dynamic current loading of lines. The individual methods are introduced and described with a focus on online monitoring systems. Furthermore, the calculation of the dependence of the parameters of AlFe conductors on the temperature change is performed.
The algorithm of protection function for the unsymetries location
Kopáček, Petr ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
The Master Thesis deals with a proposal of algorithm of a protective function for assymetric faults location in resistance-grounded medium voltage networks with decentralized measurement of instantaneous voltage and current values. The theoretical part describes a single pole fault in the resistance-grounded network including the network analysis using the symmetric component method. Furtherly follows brief reserse of nowadays considered possibilities of faults location in the medium voltage networks. The proposed algorithm which works on the principle of negative sequence changes and change differencies of voltage and current is described by mathematical operations and flowchart, and it is furtherly tested in the PSCAD simulator on the proposed network model. Also the algorithm is tested in the Matlab program using the real data from the local distribution network Pod Palackeho vrchem where the initial pilot implementation is assumed. The last part of the thesis includes also the algorithm sensitivity analysis.
Technical and economic comparison of electrical system designs of the hotel complex
Šedivý, Tomáš ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to implement the designs of electrical power supply of a selected hotel complex and related technical and non-technical comparison. The subject is specifically to compare the power supply solution options through a centralized power centre, separate transformer stations located within the complex, for example in terms of the evaluation of active power losses on the line, investment and operating costs or in terms of space requirements, etc.
Power Cables Parameters
Váša, Lukáš ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
In recent years, the development trend of power grids character shows increased demand for using cables of both current overhead and newly constructed lines. In order to preserve reliable operation and to predict the maintenance requirements, it is crucial to regard not only the parameters certified by manufacturers, but also externalities induced by real environment and incorporate these externalities into cable models in simulation software. The diploma thesis deals with determining of characteristic parameters of single core cables in real environment, which are affected by real grounding methods of metal shielding. The emphasis is put on analysis of current cable models in simulation software PSCAD and its evaluation using two-step experiment 1) measurement of shunt parameters in laboratory using electronic bridge model and 2) on field measurement of cable series parameters in real environment.
