Domestic violence and the impact on its victims

Domestic violence is one of the essential problems of our society. Domestic violence is determined by high prevalence, enormous latency and great victimization impact. The aim of my thesis is to describe the psychological aspects of the victims of domestic violence. I presume that long-term psychological and physical violence has a crucial influence on the psycho-somatic health of the victim. I am aware of the fact that this problem does not concern only battered women. Nevertheless I want to devote my attention to them, because they are one of the most affected. In my thesis I deal with following effects of victimization of battered women. The victim usually faces fear, stress, pain, anxiety, uncertainty, shame and feelings of hopelessness. These symptoms consequently lead to loss of self-confidence, to confusion of standard values and life perspectives. The woman is confronted with apathy and self-destructive tendencies. This results in woman's incapability to effectively react to experienced violence. This phenomenon is called Battered Women's Syndrome. This syndrome can be summed up in four general points: 1. The woman believes that the violence is her fault. 2. The woman has an inability to place the responsibility for the violence elsewhere. 3. Guide dog as a Helper for Disabled People

This work consists of four parts. First of all, it deals with human needs. According to five disablement types, it focuses on the needs and possibilities of communication, self-care, spatial orientation and independent movement. The second part called "A Man and a Dog" introduces their coexistence from the past up to the present and describes how and with what a dog can help a disabled person. It describes individual kinds of service dogs and specific ways to help mitigate the impacts of disablement. It provides information on which breeds are suitable for training and describes the dog training from choosing the puppy up to its integration into the life of the user. The third part shows individual social aspects related to the purchase of a dog, demands, positives and negatives of owning a service dog. It analyses the legislative concerning the problems of assistance animals and suggests its improvement. It shows the financial problems of special dog training in this country and abroad. It also gives information on myths which are in the eyes of the uninformed public connected with the training of these dogs and analyses the current channels raising awareness of these problems. The Influence of the Musical Group The Tap Tap on the Life of People with Physical Disability

The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of music activities to the life and personality of a person with disabilities. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical part and practical one. Basic terminology of physical handicap is shortly defined in the theoretical part. There are described the characteristics of quality of life and the elements that it can influence. More extensive part is devoted to basic music terminology, the benefits of music in mental and socialization process of human development. Especially in adolescence. The thesis continues with a chapter on personality development of people with physical disabilities in the process of socialization, focusing on socialization influences of organized groups. Continues with a description of group relationships with their characteristic features. The conclusion of theoretical part contains characteristics and activities of the musical group The Tap Tap. Continues with a description activities of the Civic Association Tap, which is strongly linked with musical group. The experimental part includes research methodology, description and characteristics of the areas in which the research focuses.
