Evaluation of operating analysis tools as a base for traffic optimalization
Hrstka, Daniel ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Matras, Tomáš (referee)
Goal of the thesis is to explore, evaluate and, if it is possible, suggest new tools or improve the ones, being used at the moment, for operating analysis, which is used as one of the bases for traffic optimalization of public transport. One of the elements of the thesis is exploring standards of quality and finding out, if they standards are being met on the ground of collected data. At first i will describe and evaluate tools of operating analysis. After identifying possible shortcomings, i will create new outcomes or new tools, or just slightly correct the existing ones, if it is needed. Everything is created on a real data collected from traffic surveys from years 2008 and 2012 in specific cities. After that, i focus on standards of quality and if the standards are being met. For that I'm using graphs, written text and pictures for better understanding. Again everything is based on real data either from chosen transport companies or traffic surveys.
Occupancy analysis of chosen area of public transport in Ústí nad Labem
Hrstka, Daniel ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Matras, Tomáš (referee)
Main objective of this work is to introduce public transport in Ústí nad Labem and to create analysis and evaluation of service line 16 through own traffic survey. Information is obtained by counting people in buses and writing down records into counting form. Data are then processed in MS Excel, where the database is created and in which pivot table is made. Information from pivot table is transfered into well-aranged tables and graphs. Global indicators of supply and demand with maximum occupancy of the line are assessed first, then global stops and between stops turns are processed and finally graphs for each between stops turns for each line are made. In the end everything is assessed with variable costs and combinations of different solutions of potentially economical measures are looked up. Economical factors and negative impacts are taken in account and acceptable kompromise is being found.
