Position of the local authority in sport promotion in a middle size town - case study of Příbram

Summary: Title: The role of local government in sports cultivation of a middle-size city - a case study of the city Příbram with emphasis on sports equipment. Supervisor: Doc. PhDr. Irena Slepičková, Csc. Aim: The goal ofthis thesis is to find out what role the local government performs in the area ofsport encouragement in Příbram. Methods: I utilized the knowledge and methods of the qualitative research in my thesis. I used a case study as a plan ofthe qualitative research. Results: My research showed that the local government of the town Přibram tries to support the local sports activity providers within its resources. The funding policy of the city government towards sport subjects seems, in my opinion, fair and purposeful thanks to the use of detailed principles in the sports activity funding process.
