SCORE – Indicator of Coronary Heart Risk in the Czech Population

The ten years risk of the fatal cardiovascular events was calculated according the project SCORE in two groups of patients aged 45-64 years without history of previous cardiovascular events using the model for high risk population. Involved factors are: age, sex, values of total cholesterol and systolic blood pressure and smoking status. The other risk factors (obesity or physical inactivity) enhance significantly percentage of men with high risk (risk => 5%), the difference in women was non-significant.
Prevention of Atherosclerosis in Women – Some Results from Outpatient Department in EuroMISE Centre

By atherosclerosis are affected men and women too, but it is given much less attention to these diseases in women. In the outpatient department of EuroMISE Centre in Prague, more women then men were examined. Women were older, their risk profile (factors antropometric, clinical, socio-economic and laboratory) was some better then in men, but not near to optimal values. It is necessary to bring advance attention to the investigation, prevention and the treatment of risk factors of atherosclerosis in women.

Adaptation of ORCA EPR to Czech Healthcare Data Environment

In the paper we describe the situation concerning Czech data standards and requirements on health care providers. Further we compare the nowadays possibilities of the multimedia electronic patient record ORCA and its extension to fulfill Czech data standards and requirements.
