Funkce čištění srsti v kontextu sexuálního chování

The main aim of this study was to investigate whether males and females of Barbary macaques (Macaca sylvanus) use social grooming as a commodity on the biological market. More specifically, it is focused on the exchange of grooming and mating opportunities. I have analyzed the exchange on three different levels: i) the long-term exchange, ii) short-term exchange of grooming for subsequent mating opportunity and iii) short-term patterns between grooming and mating, including assessment of rates of pre- and postsexual grooming. The results demonstrate that primates can trade grooming for sex and it seems that they do it on long-term rather than on immediate basis. Such relationship between grooming and mating might support the importance of long-term relationships between males and females. The result of the study also show that females groom males more often after the sexual activity, however males grooming was not affected by context (pre-, post-, non sexual).
Olfactory communication in Old World monkeys and apes

This thesis is focused on olfactory communication in Old World monkeys and apes. Olfaction has been generally overlooked in these groups of primates. Increasing number of studies, however shows that olfactory communication may play important role in their lives. The main aim of this thesis was to summarize published literature about olfaction and its role mainly in social interactions. Firts, I described the anatomy of the sense of smell and production of chemical stimuli. In the second part I discussed available literature on the use of chemical signals in the social behavior and reproduction.
Comparison of effectiveness of different quality management systems in a given company

For this work a firm called ČSAD JIHOTRANS a. s., which provides transport services and holds certified norms ČSN EN ISO 9001, ČSN EN ISO 14001 a ČSN EN ISO 22000, was chosen. The goal of this thesis was to analyse the quality management system in the company with specialisation on ?regular and irregular transport of passengers?, to compare constituent conceptions of quality management and to suggest potential changes. In the main part a research in the chosen company is described. This research is aimed on an analysis of costs related to quality, the development of reclamations, a questionnaire examination for an evaluation of customer satisfaction, the efficiency of the process ?regular and irregular transport of passengers? and a comparison of constituent conceptions of quality management.
