Comparison of various methods of assassement of cultural landscape and landscape character in the Czech Republic and foreign countries

A landscape character represents certain landscape features which differs it from surrounding landscapes. Different methods of evaluation of landscape character are applied to express them.
The bachelor thesis is focused on methods of landscape character evaluation used in Czech Republic and in foreign countries. Their assessment was made as well as recommendation for specific situations.
For better understanding of this extensive issue a part of this work is dedicated to expressions like landscape, landscape category, landscape character, landscape character features including introduction to nature and landscape protection.

History of town Most

Thesis focuses on urban and historical development of the town of Most, which is analysed using the available sources from its origination almost to the present. Introductory part is dedicated to foundation of the town of Most and its progressive growth. Main body is focused on removal and removal consequences of the town caused by lignite mining. Second part of the thesis contains computer reconstruction of the historical growth of the urban area. For summarization the imperial imprints of stable cadastre (1842), 2nd military mapping (1846/1847) and historical aerial imagery (dated 1938 and 1952) are being used.

Comparison of aproaches to cultral landscape protection in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands

According to expert discussions, the state of protection of the cultural landscape in the Czech Republic can not be considered as an ideal. Tools applied in other European countries can serve as inspiration for the cultural landscape protection. The main part of this thesis is dealing with the protection of the cultural landscape in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands. There is also the cultural landscape divided into several types, and also outlines the historical development of cultural landscapes in both countries. The main objective of this study is compare how the Czech Republic and the Netherlands are followed to protect the cultural landscape. The outcome of this study is the compare the approach and recommendations on how to improve the protection of the cultural landscape in the Czech Republic.
