Redefiniton of senescence in context of society's needs in 21. century. Prejudice and stereotypes in society towards seniors in Slovak and Czech Republic

In thesis we are trying to define period of old age, status of of old people and problems they may face in society. Focus is aimed mainly on prejudice and stereotypes that are still present in our society towards elderly people. Aging of population and rising of middle period of life needs new view and approach of society towards elderly people and need to raise productive time of older people. To change participation of elderly people in society and other aspects of life of society we need to change the approach of young generation but also the approach of older generation. Goal of this thesis is therefor bring new knowledge and opinions on the old age and situation of elderly people in society. Interprete and define social positivism and desirable role of elderly people towards younger but also older generation. Social Entrepreneurship as an Opportunity for the Employment of Older People on the Labor Market

(in English) The aim of this master's thesis is to find out possibilities of elderly people employment in social businesses in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes a social entrepreneurship, defines it and gives its legal frame and examples of such businesses in Europe and in the Czech Republic. The elderly are defined according to their characteristics and also according to the possible link to long term unemployment. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the overall situation of the elderly in social businesses and on factors possibly affecting their employment in this kind of businesses. It was found out in the research that the selected target group is one of those most at risk on the labour market. At the same time, this group is one of the least supported and monitored not only in the social businesses. However, persons 50+ may become a significant group on the labour market in the future. The final part of this thesis stresses out that it is vital to change our point of view on this target group and their support on the field of active labour market policy, but, above all, to make use of the opportunity to employ these people in social entrepreneurship.
