Vortex pump as a possible heart replacement
Coufalík, Martin ; Klas, Roman (referee) ; Klas, Roman (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of artificial hearts and ventricular assist devices. The theoretical part describes the heart and its function. Blood is characterized in terms of rheological behavior and the possible criteria for hemolysis are discussed. The following section describes the most commonly used ventricular assist devices, with emphasis on the use of the regenerative pump, including its components. In the practical part, an experimental analysis of two pumps (COV 43 and COV 23) is performed. Furthermore, non-dimensional characteristics of the pumps are constructed using the laws of similarity. In the computational part, the CFD analysis of the regenerative pump is performed by means of stationary and transient calculation. The results are compared with the experimental findings and based on the results, the impeller of regenerative pump was modified.
Measurement of the fans characteristic
Coufalík, Martin ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Katolický, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses a fan characteristics and their measurement. The aim of this thesis is to compare the results of measurements, which were done in certified laboratory with results of measurements done in alternative measuring stands. In first part of the thesis are described the basic types of fans and inclusion fans in turbo–machines. Furthermore, the thesis deals with a particular fan, which is part of the combustion system of condensing boiler. This fan is also the object of measurement in practical measurements, which were measured as a part of this thesis. This practical part of the thesis includes also analysis of test track, the measurement procedure and all calculations according to ISO ČSN 5801. At first were carried out measurement in certified laboratory and then in three different measuring stands. In conclusion were these results compared with optimal results.
