Sustainability as an element of regional development

This thesis has been focused on sustainability as an element of regional development. The theoretical part was based on the study of documents and literature on sustainability issues and regional development, and there were defined basic thematic terms. In the practical part was characterized by selected region - the Local Action Group Czech Central Mountains, the occurrence of an element of sustainability and analyzed there was this element as a very essential aspect of sustainable development of the territory. The main part of the practical part was a quantitative and then qualitative survey, focusing on sustainability and its influence on the development of the region. The quantitative survey was conducted through questionnaires on the opinion of the population on improving the quality of life in the region, the retention and development within the region Local Action Group Czech Central Mountains. A qualitative survey was conducted through interviews with representatives of selected municipalities. In the final part of this work are summarized and evaluated the results.
