DPRK and Republic of Uganda's Relations - Military and Economic Cooperation

(in English): This bachelor thesis focuses on relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Uganda. It examines reasons as to why these two countries decided to establish relations and in which areas were these relations beneficial. The theoretical background describes the development of North Korean foreign policy from the declaration of the DPRK in 1948 until the 21st century. Subsequently, it focuses on the relationship between the DPRK and the Republic of Uganda in the most important areas - economic, cultural and military cooperation.
The comparison of Kim Jongil and Kim Jongun's succession in historical perspective

(anglicky): This bachelor thesis deals with the succession of North Korean leaders Kim Jongil and Kim Jongun in historical perspective. The theoretical part explains the concept of totalitarianism, which is then applied to the North Korean regime according to the selected theory, and succession in totalitarian states, with focus on selected states with similar succession elements as are seen in DPRK. The analytical part of the thesis is devoted to the succession of the North Korean leaders. The circumstances of succession, the reasons for the choice of the successor, as well as the consolidation of power of the leaders with focus on the early years of rule are compared using a comparative method.

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the image of the USA and Americans in North Korean propaganda. The thesis briefly defines the concept of propaganda, describes its characteristics and categorizes its types and purposes. It deals with the specifics of North Korean propaganda and examines its techniques and effectiveness. The core of the thesis focuses on the image of the USA and Americans in relation to historical events which form North Korean Anti-Americanism. Furthermore, it thoroughly analyzes the visual aspects of the portrayal of the USA and Americans in North Korean propaganda and searches for generally valid principles and the way they are applied. Economic development of DPRK after the breakdown of world socialist system

Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. První kapitola obsahuje obecné informace o ekonomickém systému KLDR, jeho charakteristiky, základní instituce a principy fungování. Druhá kapitola podává výklad politicko-ekonomického vývoje v KLDR v období 1989 - 2005. Nastiňuje sled událostí a snaží se postihnout hlavní procesy a změny ekonomiky, ke kterým v daném období došlo, jak z hlediska chronologického, tak strukturálního. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na jednotlivá odvětví severokorejského hospodářství. Ve čtvrté kapitole je severokorejská ekonomika nahlížena z regionální a mezinárodní perspektivy. Důraz je kladen na vztahy s nejbližšími sousedy - Korejskou republikou, Čínskou lidovou republikou, Japonskem, Ruskem a Spojenými státy. V závěru jsou posuzovány nejdůležitější faktory pro další ekonomický vývoj KLDR, současné tendence, které by mohly určovat jeho budoucí směr, včetně souhrnu priorit pro budoucí ekonomický rozvoj a nezbytných kroků k transformaci severokorejské ekonomiky.
