Quantification of human life and health harms

This thesis gives a view on legislation conserning valuation of human health and life damages in the Czech republic. The aim is to provide a summary and a comparison of laws and other legislative documents and evaluate conditions of reimbursement determination. The paper also gives a basic outline of theoretical ways of valuating human health and life and their connection with reimbursement in accordance with czech legislation.

Evaluation of investment project focusing on the creation of university dormitory

Diploma thesis has a character of a feasibility study which may serve for implementation of a smaller development project. This project is focused on the creation of student dormitory on university level by reconstructing an administration building. The goal of the thesis is to present a basic structure of implementation of such development project from construction and operation view and in terms of financial evaluation based on requirements of a private investor. Furthermore, the document describes in detail the Slovak accommodation market, reasons for such an investment, aspects of reconstruction, operating plan and financial side of the entire investment. Determinants influencing electricity prices

The aim of this work is to characterize the main determinants influencing the development of electricity prices. Beginnings are dedicated to the description of regulated elements of electricity bill and their development over the last period. The second part deals with power electricity and its development in the spot and futures market. The paper describes the emergence of energy prices on the market and the main determinants affecting the supply and demand curves, such as the price of emission allowances, increasing production from renewable energy and the price of energy raw materials. Part of the work is also analysis of the impact of market coupling on the market price of electricity daily market. The conclusion is devoted to seasonal fluctuations in electricity prices representing the time series.

Vertical integration - benefits and drawbacks

The thesis introduces thorough analysis of current approach towards margin squeeze practice, an abuse of dominant position by vertically integrated entity. For proper categorization, definition and understanding of the basic assumptions behind the strategy of margin squeeze and its application, the paper presents necessary conceptual apparatus. Further the paper deals also with regulatory framework of abuses of dominant position, national as well as international. In the practical section the paper introduces margin squeeze strategy within telecommunication industry and its regulatory framework in the Czech republic and brings recommendations for ex-ante margin squeeze testing in relation with current European regulators policy updates following the dynamic technological development of the industry.

This diploma thesis deals with the business valuation of DUDÁK Strakonice Burgher's Brewery. The aim of the diploma thesis is to determine the market value as of 1. 1. 2011. The company is specific in that it is the last brewery in the Czech Republic to still be owned by a town. The purpose of the diploma thesis rests in finding appropriate value for owners and lenders, which can take in the event of a sale an informational character for the seller. The valuation is independently done by DCF Entity method, Multiples method and Book value method. The work is divided into seven chapters that follow on each other and lead to the determination of the enterprise value. The author uses informational and statistical databases that contribute to the greater credibility of the entire valuation.

IPO since the technology bubble to Facebook

The thesis IPO since the technology bubble to Facebook deals with IPO development during the last fifteen years. The cyclical development of numbers and volume of raised capital is observable. From the theoretical point of view the market timing theory reflects this situation very well. Analysis of stock market bubble blowing and bursting performed mainly during the technological revolution at the end of the 20th century and partly during REITs bubble lead to conclusion that there mentioned fundamental indicators are not able to explain the bubble as a whole. According to indicative valuation and comparative methods IPO offer price of the company Facebook was about 23--27 % overvalued. In connection with subsequent problematic development of the company it is not likely to happen that the Facebook's IPO starts a new IPO wave in the internet media sector.

The aim of the paper is to research possible approaches to valuation of human life and to explore possible situations leading to such valuation. Another goal is to create a systematic description of categories of value and to provide compact description of the problem. In order to create a system, the thesis maps premises and criteria. The result is identification of methods that are frequently used both abroad and in Czech Republic. Values differ based on the category of value. The paper identifies methods, comments on them and classifies them.

Goal of this diploma thesis is to analyze calculations and their managing in Friall s. r. o. At first the costs are examined from the global angle -- their structure and evidence is described. The rest of thesis is connected with calculations. It analyzes present calculation system and draws up remaining two calculations method that are recommended in the latest theoretical sources. At the end of the thesis some modifications that follow from the done computation are suggested.

Transfer pricing documentation

This thesis deals with transfer pricing, namely the documentation. It tries to map the legislative standards and procedures of transfer pricing documentation that could be applied in the Czech Republic. The main objective of this thesis is a compilation of documentation for a specific company in the Czech Republic in accordance with those procedures. The thesis contains three main chapters. The first section mainly covers the basic theoretical concepts and actual legislation regarding transfer pricing. This is the minimum necessary for initiation into the issue. The second chapter deals specifically with the theoretical process of creating documentation. The final, third part of the thesis includes the application of the theory to a specific company.
