This diploma thesis aims to provide a general overview of the issue of IP video transmission. First chapter gives in-dept introduction of the technical side of video streaming and online video generally and its functions. The second part presents the main roles of theusers and genres in this field and it also show the main social aspects of the online video technologies. The aim of the third chapter is to refer to the current use of technology and to its possible further usage. In the fourth chapter, we look closely at the streaming video trough the perspective of classical media theory, media philosophy, and also from the sociological point of view.

Different approaches to understanding the subject of information science

This bachelor thesis deals with a problem of definition o f the term information and of the information science. Information science is related to the interpretation o f the information very closely. This paper shows the four main approaches to the subject o f information science. Those approaches are philosophical, computer, biologial and cybernetic. This allows to make an all-around image o f the range o f this subject and it also points out the need o f further specification of this field of study.
