Earthquake swarms in West Bohemia - their onset and fade
Khodjaev, Alisher ; Fischer, Tomáš (advisor) ; Boušková, Alena (referee)
During the last 30 years, the activity of various earthquake swarms has been instrumentally recorded in the West Bohemian earthquake region. This work is studying the spatiotemporal evolution of seismicity preceding and following selected swarms from 1992 to 2020. The introductory part contains a brief description of the area of interest. The research part acquaints the reader with the necessary basics of seismology. In the next, phenomenon of earthquake swarms is described - their typical activity, possible mechanisms of origin, examples from the world and from the West Bohemia. In the practical part, using seismic catalogs, seismic activity preceding and following selected swarms is visualized. The aim is to find some regularities in the spatiotemporal evolution of the West Bohemian earthquake swarms. Using the visualization of the activity of selected swarms and the author's own interpretation, no regularities were found. For a more relevant conclusion a quantitative analysis should be carried out.
Relation of the alteration of the basement of the Cheb Basin and CO2 discharge
Arnetová, Kateřina ; Fischer, Tomáš (advisor) ; Boušková, Alena (referee)
The area or West Bohemia is typical by an increased geodynamic activity, which manifests itself in earthquake swarms and surface emanations of CO2 of mantle origin. These phenomena are concentrated in the tertiary Cheb basin, which is fragmented by a network of faults. The CO2 of deep origin passes along these faults to the surface and contributes to the alteration of both the basement of the basin and sedimentary infill. The aim of this thesis is to give an overview of the studied area and, with the use of well data, to verify whether the basement does show lateral changes in weathering that could indicate influence of CO2. The results show that the alteration of the basement is unequal, however no relation between the alteration and surface gas flux was found.
Classroom environment
Boušková, Alena ; Linková, Marie (advisor) ; Kalbáčová, Jaroslava (referee)
The theme of this dissertation is social and physical environment of classrooms and schools. The theoretical part characterizes the educational environment and briefly describes psychosocial climate investigation methods at elementary schools. The practical part explores actual social climate using standardized questionaire "My class Inventory - Actual form" and physical climate using author's original questionaire, evaluating acquired results.
