Bošková, Mariana ; Kurtinová, Olga (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Alternative family forms in Czechia in the 21st century Abstract The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the development of alternative family forms in Czechia in the 21st century. These forms seem to be increasingly popular and more represented within households. The largest part of the research is devoted to unmarried cohabiting households. The characteristics of persons in these forms of cohabitation are presented in terms of their age, highest level of education, religion, and these households are also analysed according to the presence of children and their financial situation. The data are taken from the EU-SILC and ESS surveys from years 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 and the year 2011 is also added with data from the Czech population and household census. The grow index is included to assess the evolution between years and a logistic regression for the analysis of opinions on unmarried cohabitation as well. Households of unmarried cohabiting partners and singles persons are becoming increasingly popular. The increase is particularly evident in the younger age groups. Key words: cohabitations, same sex unions, de facto partnerships, singles, EU-SILC, ESS, households, Czechia

The dynamics of the world population ageing Abstract This thesis aims to evaluate the evolution of population ageing in the world. This subject is a current issue nowadays and will probably be in the future for many countries in the world. The evaluation of the population ageing is analysed through five indicators: old age dependency ratio, total dependency ratio, total fertility rate, life expectancy at birth, and median age. Even though attention is mostly paid to the years 1950, 2015 and 2050, the thesis contains the growth index of all the used indicators as well. It shows the development over this hundred-year time horizon. While the population ageing has taken place mostly in economically developed countries in the past, this trend will most likely continue to be most pronounced in the fastest developing countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Asia in the future, with faster dynamics. Key words: demographic ageing, world, old age dependency ratio, total dependency ratio, total fertility rate, life expectancy at birth, median age

The dynamics of the world population aging Abstract This bachelor thesis "Dynamics of Population Aging in the World" aims to evaluate the evolution of current trends of demographic aging in the world. The impact of population aging is analyzed through five indicators: old age dependency ratio, total dependency ratio, total fertility rate, life expectancy at birth, and median age. The countries with the highest and smallest values of these indicators are displayed. Furthermore, the most homogeneous and most heterogeneous regions are researching using the standard deviation of the values of used indicators. The countries with the largest and smallest differences in the values of the used indicators between 1950-2015 and 2015-2050 are also displayed. The most dynamic aging of the population will, according to forecasts, occur till 2050 in Eastern and Southeast Asia. These regions are most likely to hold world leadership in both age and median age levels. Throughout the reporting period, Africa will most likely be the youngest continent in the world. Key words: demographic aging, population development, world
