Besta, Daniel
The work is focused on the analysis of the efficiency of the operation of road freight vehicles in international transport. The theoretical part describes the types of trucks and their categorization. It also lists the most commonly used types of trucks in the EU. The second half of the theoretical part is focused on indicators with which it is possible to analyze the efficiency of truck operation with regard to the interest group of vehicles analyzed in the practical part. The practical part aims to analyze the factors influencing the operational efficiency of different brands of tractors in fleets with different driver modes in a real environment based on operational and economic data. Here the researched factors are presented and the results of analyzes are described with the facts found from real operation affecting the current business activity in the field of international transport. The result of the development of the price for transportation showed that this price is not primarily influenced by the weight of the load, which, in conjunction with the result of the analysis of the effect of the weight of the load on the average consumption, when the difference between the consumption with 5 and 24 t of load was up to 9.1 l/100 km, can have a significant impact on profit. Other results showed that the most effective option is the operation of a vehicle set with a DAF FT XF 480 FT SUPER SPACE CAB tractor with 2 drivers in the cab showing a monthly profit of CZK 247,073. The least effective is the operation of a vehicle set with one driver with a DAF FT-LD XF 480 SSC tractor, when the monthly profit is CZK 110,689 less than in the case of the most efficient variant.
