Audiovisual Works with Reference to Film Co-productions - Summary: The audiovisual works are the main theme of this thesis. I have chosen this theme, because these works are very important for our society and we can not ignore them. We have to consider this segment of our society from various and different perspectives. I mean the various branches of law, film theory, history, financing (economics). It is multidisciplinary area and it contains cultural, social, economical, educational and also international points, which help us to improve and simplify international and multicultural structures and relationships. The thesis is divided into six chapters. Chapter One is introductory and provides basic identification with the topic of the thesis. Chapter Two focuses on general definition of the words "audiovisual work". We have to define this type of work in legal terms and also in the other "interdisciplinary" terms. Chapter Three recalls the fact that this issue must be seen from the historical point of view. We have to study historical copyright law, publications from 30s and 40s of the twentieth century dealing with film law and also law journals from this time period (e.g. "Soutěž a tvorba"). Current issues of audiovisual works with reference to film co-productions including issues of their financing Abstract: This rigorous thesis focuses on audiovisual works, which are an essential part of our society. This is a multidisciplinary area affecting many spheres of our lives. This economic, social and cultural sector has to be looked at from several perspectives. Creation of the audiovisual works and production of the first fixation of the audiovisual works can be looked at for example in terms of law, history, film studies, financing. The international element often presented in the process of the creation of the audiovisual works contributes to the development of not only multicultural but mostly interstate relationships. Introduction to the legal regulation of Czechoslovak film co-productions between 1945-1970
Bednář, Leoš ; Klimeš, Ivan (advisor) ; Czesany Dvořáková, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the co-production of films in Czechoslovakia from 1945 to 1970. This neglected institute is described and partially analysed on the principle of the three levels of the legal regulation. The first stage are interstate cultural agreements and agreements of cultural cooperation. The most important is the co-production agreement and agreement of cooperation in the area of cinematography with France and Italy concluded in 1968. The second stage consists of the implementation plans and the framework conventions, which extend the provisions of interstate agreements. It is very difficult to trace these plans and conventions in unprocessed archive funds. So the enlisted information are rather fragmentary. The next stage is created by the specific co-production agreements. These agreements are basis for the co-production projects. The last section of the thesis contains several unrealised co-production projects that have not been created because of some political, economic and other disputes.
