Migration policy of Czech republic and Great Britain, with a view to a labour-migration
Bártková, Vendula ; Drbohlav, Dušan (advisor) ; Schroth, Jan (referee)
This diploma paper deals with the migration problemacy and it primarily focuses on one of the most important elements, which affect migration - i.e. migration policy. We may polemize about the actual influence of migration policies on the final size and structure of migration flows, about the effectivity in fulfilling of their objectives; however we must agree on the fact, that migration policies represent an important factor, which affects migration movements. In this work we therefor aim to explain how migration policy arises, what influences its formation and shape and what kind of instruments we may subsequently use to value its fruitfulness. Seeing that in current time the labourmigration is the most common type of the total migration, we focused on the actual situation in the labour-migration policy and we were trying to find out which kind of instruments are used in this area as well as what types of programmes are offered. We pay attention to this problemacy not just from the view of Czech republic, but furthermore from the position of Great Britain, because we presume, that because of its history Britain has multiyear experience in this area, so thus it can be a great source of inspiration for Czech republic. In this effort, however, they are not completely independent. The rules governing the admission of aliens can be found even in international law. And these rules are binding for states. In recent years, the (European) states must also face the European legislation in this area. In the presented thesis we deal with tree types of migration - family reunion, asylum seeking and labour migration. Currently these are indeed the most common reasons for immigration into developed countries. Furthermore we explain how national legislation is influenced by supranational legislation; whether these interventions increase and what type of migration is most concerned. The thesis is composed of seven chapters. After a brief introduction in chapter One, description of the migration process, its definition and theory follow in chapter Two. In this chapter we also explain the basic concepts that we use in this paper. The following three...
