Roubal, David ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the study of high-strength, high-volume fly ash concrete. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on the detailed characteristic and main principles of high-strength concrete, high-volume fly ash concrete. In addition, according to the findings, the technology of high-strength and high-volume fly ash concrete, including principles of high strength, has been described. On the basis of the findings, high-strength, high-volume fly ash concrete for specific compressive strengths has been designed and created in the experimental section. These concretes were then subjected to a number of tests.
Analysis of volume changes of cement composites with respect to optimizing the dosage of fine components
Meruňka, Milan ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the determination of the influence of the maximum density of the cement matrix on the volume changes of concrete, the influence of different admixtures or their combinations on the development of hydration temperatures and on the water separation of concrete. The theoretical part describes the various types of volume changes of concrete, the effects of individual input components and mineral admixtures on water separation, hydration heat development and concrete microstructure. The experimental part is focused on monitoring not only the volume changes of concrete mixtures made using different types of admixtures or their suitable combination until the age of 60 days of maturation, but also the influence of their use on selected mechanical parameters of concrete such as compressive strength, concrete in its fresh state and monitoring changes in the microstructure from long-term aging mixtures.
Economic aspects of environmental use of building materials based on secondary raw materials.
Ťažký, Tomáš ; Durica,, Tibor (referee) ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Nosek,, Karel (referee) ; Kulísek, Karel (advisor)
The disses thesis is focused on usage of secondary raw materials from the electric power industry, specifically fly ash as a component for the building industry, concentrated on concrete. Two main streams are covered, environmental and economical. Reasons, which led to focus on the selected subject are coming mainly from the scarcity and availability of high-quality mineral resources, environmental pressure for usage of industry byproduct, reducing emissions and economical pressure to reduce production cost, especially raw materials. The main purpose of the work was to verify the possibility of increasing the usability of fly ash as a mineral additive in the technology of concrete production with materials retrieved from coal fired power plants and applying mechanical activation of fly ash. The main goal of the experimental part of work was to demonstrate improvement of fresh and hardened concrete properties as a main condition to support economic efficiency of mechanical activated fly ash. Base on previous facts the methodology was covering two main areas, the experimental and the assessment. Relatively large sets of tests were performed, using a wide range of tested high temperature fly ash and fluidized bed combustion fly ash granulometrically treated, by mixing and grinding. Results of the testing confirmed focused parameters for concrete and mortar mechanical properties, total economical efficiency of the targeted solution and the subject of the dissertation. In the experiment section has been retrieved valuable findings contributing to the overall knowledge of the faculty, also for the practical application. The results of the tests confirmed the achievement of the planned target parameters, both in terms of physical and mechanical properties of experienced mortars and concretes, as well as the overall economic efficiency of the proposed design and the topic of the disses thesis. Within the experimental work, valuable professional knowledge and benefits w
Study of impacts affecting the lifetime of cement concrete coverings in the Czech Republic
Láznička, Josef ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis deals with the study of cement – concrete coverings. The aim of the thesis is a summary of current knowledge of these constructions. The experimental part of this paper deals with the design of concrete for the lower layer of cement – concrete cover. Emphasis is placed on the elimination of microcracks and to increase the lifetime of these construction.
SCC with secondary raw materials
Ťažká, Lucia ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on the possibility of using secondary raw materials and their application to the production of SCC. Large part deals with impurities of type I and its application results mainly from abroad. Furthermore, this work examines the impact of different types of impurities on the resulting concrete durability in various aggressive environments. The practical part is focused on the use of chemically non-reactive additives of type I instead of the commonly used additives of type II which are used to replace part of cement and the resulting design and manufacture of low-strength SCC using appropriate additives.
Studying the possibility of improving the frost resistance of concrete
Šafrata, Pavel ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The purpose of this study is to summarize theoretical and practical knowledge of frost resistance of concrete. It suggests, that there are numerous factors affecting the freeze-thaw resistence of concrete. These are especially raw materials, production technology, time and method of curing. The influence of addition, air entrainment and air void structure is complied and evaluated experimentally. The testing method is crucial for the evaluation of durability of concrete. Hence, this thesis includes a research of methods used around the world and practical comparison of some of them. This thesis is valuable because of implementation of the requirement in the standard ČSN EN 206 (2014) for the frost resistence of concrete in exposure classes XF1 and XF3.
Special surface finish architectural concrete
Gajdoš, Jan ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The aim of this work is to describe modern methods of finishing concrete with architectural division of the surfaces created in fresh and hardened state. In this work describes the various influences and their effects on the resulting surface such as concrete composition, method of storage or production and compaction of concrete. In the practical part of the thesis focuses on the technology of graphic concrete and its application to vertical monolithic wall.
Research of effective use and activation of activ concrete additions
Mikhailova, Olesia ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The theoretical part describes the admixtures that are used in cement replacement. Here also summarizes the findings on the influence of granulomentry, grain shape and fineness of admixtures on the density of the cement matrix. The practical part is experimentally verified the influence of fineness admixtures and grain size on the mechanical properties of concrete. Also, the rheological properties of cement are compared with admixtures depending on the type and dosage and time.

Černá, Eva ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
Alcali – silica reaction often causes destruction of a concrete.constructions. In the theoretical part is described creation and causes of the ASR including assessment of individual components of concrete and their testing. The practical part is devoted to the results of some control tests of the concrete cover in the section 18 of the highway D1 (Měřín - Velké Meziříčí) and section D1-20 (Velké Meziříčí - Lhotka), the mechanical properties of the upper and the lower layer of the concrete cover and measuring the resistance of concrete against chemical deicing agents.
The use of micro and nanotechnology to develop ultra high strength and high performance concrete with special features
Vlč, Viktor ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The use of nanotechnology has become wide spread in all branches of science. Nanotechnology help us to understand microstructure and due to the world has started to produce new materials. One of many examples carbon nanotubes (CNTs). In diploma thesis I tried to find the way of successful introduction into concrete mixture. I was studying influence of CNTs and other nano particles and I was comparing them with referential samples (without CNTs). Also I tested the improvement of mechanical characteristics of concrete. The morphology of nano particles was studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The results show that introduction of nanoparticles to results in increasing strength and higher density. That is why High Performace Concrete so resistant and durable.
