Development of Formula 1 cars

This bachelor´s thesis deals with development of Formula One cars from the begging of the Formula One Worlds Driver´s Championship and describes the first twenty years of this development. This period is characteristic as the replacement of the pre-war cars with engine in front for the cars with engine behind the driver, which is typical for nowadays Formula One. There are description of main construction components and their subgroups, which had been improved by using new materials and technologies.

The bachelor´s thesis deals with construction design of crankshafts for combustion engines and comparison of individual configurations of automobile engines. The thesis also discusses technology of manufacturing and surface finishing of crankshafts with list of material for given purposes. The thesis describes reasons for imbalance of engine and possibilities of their balancing.
