Econometric analysis of effects of regulatory fees on length of stay in hospital
Junga, Přemysl ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor) ; Školuda, Václav (referee)
The thesis analyses the influence of reimbursement regulatory fee for hospitalization which was introduced in regional hospitals in 2009 in Czech Republic. The difference in differences analysis was used to study the possible relationship between reimbursement of the fee for length of hospitalization in acute care hospitals and in after-care facilities. In acute care the influence was 0,5-1 % of the length and in after-care facilities between 8-12 %. This relationship may be biased because of introduction of DRG system which may decrease the length of stay and may be differently distributed between the treatment and control groups.
Estimate of potential output for economy of the Czech Republic: Production function approach
Šálek, Pavel ; Pánková, Václava (advisor) ; Školuda, Václav (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to estimate potential output of the economy of the Czech Republic from 1999 to 2011. In the first chapter I focus on description of the overall product of the economy, introduction and definition, mostly NAIRU approach, of the potential output and several approaches to estimate potential output. Production function is analysed in the following chapter from econometric as well as economic perspective. The most important properties of the production functions are also described in this chapter. In the end of the second chapter I deal with three most common types of production function. Estimated values of the variables in the production function including the value of the potential output of the Czech economy and relevant interpretations are presented in the last chapter of this thesis.
GRETL – Software for econometric courses support
Jindrová, Věra ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Školuda, Václav (referee)
The bachelor thesis aims to create a comprehensible user's manual for econometric software GRETL in the Czech language. It begins with the introduction of software GRETL and then acquaints the reader with a range of possible uses of the software when working with data. Thesis briefly describes the main characteristics of the possible linear regression model, such as multicollinearity, autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity, including possible testing in the particular software and evaluation of specific tests. The key part deals with defining and specifying data for their subsequent analysis in the software, compilation of a model, estimates of parameters of an econometric model using the least squares method, the weighted least squares method and the generalized least squares method. Furthermore, the thesis deals with hypotheses testing and confidence interval estimations, and also shows how to create and edit graphs in GRETL and explains each menu item in detail. All steps are supported by a graphical supplement and specific examples.
Modelling of foreign trade of Czech Republic
Chocholáček, Ján ; Školuda, Václav (advisor) ; Fíglová, Zuzana (referee)
The object of the bachelor thesis is creating econometric models of foreign trade of Czech Republic to selected countries and on the basis of these models to make an ex post prediction of Czech export to these countries. The theoretical part will describe behaviours and relationships in the foreign trade. The main task of the theoretical part will be description of econometric theory, which will be used in the practical part. The practical part is focused on the estimation of an econometric model of the Czech Republic export to selected countries and consequent verification and testing of the results. In conclusion will be made ex post prediction of the Czech export to selected countries based on the results of the models.
