Šejvl, Filip ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
The purpose of this study is to evaluate activities of the regional policy of the European Union in countries, which have the biggest experience with this policy. From my point of view these are: Portugal, Spain, and Greece. The paper is principally focusing on the individual countries and on some of their regions. It compares the needs of these regions and tries to evaluate the activity of the regional policy in the area. The study also tries to discover common elements of the three countries in their experience with the regional policy. It tries to find an answer whether the Structural Funds have helped to economic and social conversion. Main evaluation factors of this study are economic growth, the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, and employment.
