Jan Václav Stich - The Works for french Horn

This thesis describes Jan Václav Stich ? Giovanni Punto, famous Czech virtuoso, horn player and composer of 18th century. The first chapter is concentrated on Stich?s life, the following one on his work. Afterwards, three horn concertos are analyzed, namely Concerto No 5, Concerto No 7 and Concerto No 10. The last chapter compares three recording made by different horn players ? Vladimíra Klánská-Bouchalová, Radek Baborák and Barry Tuckwell.

The title of my bachelor´s thesis is Jiři Pauer Concerto for french horn and orchestra. On the basis of my analysis of this concerto, I would like to bring to attention the importace of this Czech composer of the 20th century. My thesis is broken into two chapters. The first chapter concentrates on the life and lifestyle of the composer and his composing style. Next, a list of his musical works is listed, and added to each piece is the date of composition, instrumentation, publisher, publishing date, and other important information. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of the Concerto for french horn and orchestra. The interesting detailed analysis is accompanied with samples. At the end I conclude my gained experience and refer to the importace of the Concerto in todays use.
The correct method of breathing while playing the wind instruments

The first chapter briefly compares playing the brasswind, woodwind instruments and singing and compares source of vibrations. The second chapter is devoted to structure of respiratory system, sense of organs and use of organs while breating. The third chapter discusses consequence of air pressure, vital capacity and size of inhalation. Also provides well-arranged table with vital capacities. The four chapter describes events, which inhibit breathing and gives advice how avoid bad habits. The fifth chapter treats the psychology of breathing, especially it gives advices, wich are important for correct breathing. The six chapter describes breathing equipment and also ways how can you use them. In the final seven chapter you can find breathing exercises suitable for daily use.

The thesis titled The History of the French Horn covers the overall development of the French horn, starting from the primeval ages, over the Middle Ages up to the modern period. Next chapters of the thesis focus on the development of this instrument at the royal court under the rule of the king Louis XIV as well as in the Lands of Bohemia. Further the thesis describes the emmergence of the invention horn. The thesis part dealing with classicism virtuosos provides a detailed biography of J.V.Stich ? Punto. The thesis culminates in XIX century, when the French horn reached its present form.

This work deals with a possibility of utilizing the musical improvise as a way towards the player´s personal creative ability improvement in the direction of intensifying and deepening.
