Eating disorder in a relationship from a point of view of woman's partner

The aim of the thesis is to theoretically describe and empirically verify "typical moments", that partner of eating disorder ill women has to undergo from the beginning through progress and treatment of the illness in respect of the relationship. Both theoretical and qualitative practical part map the situations faced by partner during his female-partner's illness, how he figures in the illness system, how he influences his partner's illness, which mechanisms he uses to cope with the illness, how the relationship influences the progress of the illness, which needs and feelings are emphasized at the partner. Theoretical part of the thesis is based on world literature and the experience of coordinator of self-help group for eating disorder ill person's relatives and carers. It is also based on analysis of qualitative data acquired from questionnaires with open type of questions. The needs of man in a role of father/partner of daughter/partner with eating disorders

Poruchami příjmu potravy (mentální anorexie, mentální bulimie a záchvatovité přejídání) v drtivé většině trpí dívky a ženy. Onemocnění se však dotýká také mužů, kteří žijí v blízkosti nemocné ženy či dívky, ať už v roli otce, partnera, bratra či jiné blízké osoby. Nemoc zasahuje do vztahů, proměňuje rozložení sil v rodině či v partnerském soužití, vystavuje muže situaci, se kterou se zpravidla ještě nesetkali a nemají tedy ke zvládnutí potřebné copying mechanismy. Blízcí nemocných dívek a žen sice nejsou označeni jako nemocní, nejsou nositeli symptomu poruchy příjmu potravy, přesto hrají v celém systému vzniku a udržování nemoci velmi důležitou roli. Ráda bych se ve své práci věnovala potřebám mužů v roli otců a partnerů nemocných dcer a partnerek poruchou příjmu potravy. Cílem této práce je teoreticky vymezit a popsat situaci, do které se muž dostává, s čím se musí během nemoci své dcery či partnerky vyrovnat, jak on sám vstupuje do systému nemoci, jaký vliv na nemoc partnerky či dcery má, jaké potřeby u něj vystupují do popředí. Dalším cílem je také zpracovat praktickou brožuru pro tuto cílovou skupinu, jež by měla pomoci právě těm, od kterých se většinou očekává pochopení, podpora a pomoc.
