Air cooled condenser
Bochníček, Ondřej ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with an air cooled condenser. The specific attention is focused on the condenser in the Brno´s waste-to-energy plant SAKO. The general process of calculation of the heat transfer coefficient is introduced, which is the base for the calculation of the condenser´s output. This process is later used for the calculation of a specific condenser. A considerable part of the thesis is concentrated on the analysis of behavior of the condenser of SAKO in various conditions from the theoretical point of view and then also in terms of real operation using provided operational data.

The bachelor’s thesis deals with waste to energy topic. The first part describes methods of waste utilization their advantages and disadvantages. The second part describes waste to energy. Legislation defining waste to energy in the Czech Republic is described in the third part.
Small Condensing Steam Turbine
Vítek, Tomáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this Master’s thesis is to create the design of a low power condensing steam turbine. The turbine has a Curtis control stage and a reaction blading. The work also contains the calculation of gland labyrinth seals and the balancing piston, specification of a forces and losses at bearings. Finally, the gearbox and generator are selected and the efficiency at generator’s clamps is specified. The Master’s thesis includes the design drawing of a longitudinal turbine view.
Steam Turbine in the Combi Cycle
Filoušová, Natálie ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
Diploma thesis named Steam turbine in the combi cycle deals with design of low pressure part of three-body turbine and it’s lateral outlet throat to the air condenser. Before the design itself, the thermal schema of entire turbine is calculated. Than follows the detail draft, the strength calculations are included as well. Turbine has any technological consumption of steam or any regenerativ consumption. Turbine will be suplly to Panama. The thesis includes following drawings: cut of flowing part, design of outlet throat and fixing of inner body in outer body of low pressure part. The diploma thesis is created for Doosan Škoda Power company.
Gas turbines
Bukáček, Miroslav ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is create a summary of gas turbines and their comparison with internal combustion piston engines. This thesis deals with work cycles of gas turbines, internal combustion piston engines and their effectiveness. It contains a description of the basic components necessary for the operation of gas turbines. In conclusion is comparing of gas turbines and internal combustion piston engine.
Condesing Steam Turbine
Siuda, Radim ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with design of a high speed steam turbine with detachable condensation module and integrated gearbox. As a source of energy is used heat waste, which is a result of the diesel engines function. Important options concerning conception of the turbo set are discussed in the master’s thesis. Subsequently, thermodynamic calculations for each module are done. Part of the thesis is also simplified calculation of the integral gearbox. Construction drawings of all modules and of the complete turbo set with electrical generator were created based on thermodynamic calculation.
Heat Transfer Evaluation on Falling Film Tube Bundle
Kracík, Petr ; Masaryk, Michal (referee) ; Kořista, Milan (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
Sprinkled tube bundles with a thin liquid film flowing over them are used in various technology processes where it is necessary to separate the vapour and liquid phases quickly and efficiently. The process occurs predominantly at low temperatures with a corresponding decrease of pressure around the tube bundle. Such a technology is represented for instance by an evaporator at absorption units or an evaporator for sea water desalination. In ideal conditions water boils at the whole surface of an exchanger, but in practice it must be considered that in original spots of contact between water and the exchanger wall the water will not boil at the tubes' surface but the cooling liquid will merely be heated-up. The presented dissertation thesis focuses on this issue. The objective of the thesis was to determine the heat transfer coefficient at the surface of sprinkled tube bundles of various geometries at atmospheric pressure as well as low pressure. For this purpose experiments have been carried out at tube bundles consisting of copper tubes of 12,0 mm diameter placed horizontally one above another that were heated by water. Three types of tubes (smooth, sandblasted and grooved) of four various pitches (15,0 to 30,0 mm by 5,0 mm increments) have been tested. Simultaneously individual bundles' geometries consisted of 4, 6, 8 and 10 tubes with identical surface finish. Based on the conducted experiments the mathematical model of heat transfer that involves mainly analogy criteria has been made more accurate. A temperature field at the sprinkled tube bundle surface has been scanned by a thermographic camera during the performed experiments. Influence of geometry and tube surface finish on flow mode and consequently also on heat transfer has been assessed in accordance with the compiled methodology.
Steam turbine for a small nuclear power plant
Biskup, Michal ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with the design of a steam turbine for a small nuclear power plant with a power of 50 MWe. In the first part of the work is proposed thermal and mass balance. The turbine has seven unregulated steam extractions, which are divided: two are for high-pressure feedwater heater, four are for low-pressure condensate heater and one is for degassing. The next chapter deals with the calculation of the regulation stage which is designed like an A-wheel and here is also strength control. Then, a pre-design and a detailed design of the stage part with the reaction blading. The stage part is consisted of eight cones with a total number of 27 stages. In the following chapters, is calculated the compensating piston, seals system and bearings. In the end, is made the consumption diagram. Part of the work is a conceptual drawing of a steam turbine section. The resulting steam turbine has a power output 50,197 MW and an internal thermodynamic efficiency of 73,9 %.
Usability of small wind turbine at household
