Efficiency incerasing of axial compressors of jet engines
Fojtl, Michal ; Weis, Martin (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with axial compressors of jet engines and with increasing their efficiency. First part describes basic principles of compressors, losses, stall and surge and compressor characteristics. Second part deals with possible solutions for increase of their efficiency and pressure rise. These solutions are summarized and possible combination is recommended.
Aircraft jet engines with adaptive cycle
Heczko, Nikodem ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
In this final bachelor thesis is a basic overview and distribution of gas turbine engines, including a brief description of their function. The work is focused on jet engines with adaptive cycle. It introduces benefits of their use as aviation fuel units in terms of efficiency and description of possible ways to design solutions. Secondly, it analyzes the very principle of adaptive cycle and its implementation on the engine YF120. In conclusion are presented research programs dealing with adaptive cycle.
Creation of ATO with flight training on BUT
Petr, Jan ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Hammer, Jaromír (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is a study of requirements related to the creation of an approved organization for flight training (ATO), including the design of organizational structure and staffing in the conditions of the Brno University of Technology. The first part of the thesis maps relevant legislative sources and all possible types of training organizations. The next part of the thesis is focused on the selection of the appropriate type of training organization, organizational and personal integration into the structure of BUT, description of the aircraft fleet, selecting the appropriate airport and calculating the expected price of the flight hour Cessna C172S license plate OK-VUT. The conclusion of the thesis deals with the competitiveness of the created training organization and possible possibilities of expanding the provided training.
Human factor in air transport
Pískatý, Slavomír ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Chlebek, Jiří (advisor)
This dissertation examines the problems of human error in civil aviation. Its aim is, first and foremost, to evaluate types, origins and frequency of particular mistakes in piloting technique of aeroplanes. The dissertation comprises a study of the commonest human errors as presented by the examples of European airlines. The conclusion of the dissertation details proposals of method and approach on eliminating human error and thus increasing air travel safety.
Reducing CO2 Emission in Air Transport
Fričová, Barbora ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Kaddour, Mirvat (advisor)
Reducing CO2 emission in air transport is the main theme of this master´s thesis. As the public interest in aviation and climate change is world´s growing it could be consider as a hot topic. As a response to public interest was the creation of contracts, standards and limits of carbon dioxide emissions. The master´s thesis is divided into several parts. The first is mapping of global air traffic and carbon dioxide emissions. The second part deals with European approach to solving problems of reducing CO2 emissions follows by description of ICAO Aeroplane CO2 emissions standard. The part of the thesis is the overview of the use of biofuels in aviation and their price. The conclusion summarizes all knowledge learned while working on this thesis.

History of Civil Aviation 1970-2000
Zubrvalčík, Jan ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Chlebek, Jiří (advisor)
The main aim of this bachelor‘s thesis is utilize consice summary of history of civil aviation between year 1970 to 2000 and compare their performance. This era is typical with out-set of airplanes with large capacity and new construction solutions. This thesis is focused on planes for long distance with large capacity, but also on planes for middle and short distances too. Thesis is divided by range of airplanes and special charter is about supersonic civil planes.
Unconventional design for internal combustion engines
Šenkýř, Miroslav ; Imriš, Pavel (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
The work is focused on unconventional concepts for internal combustion engines, namely, internal combustion engines of unusual structures. These are the engines that have different shapes of combustion chamber, shapes of shafts and specific output from the conventional concepts. This paper describes an unconventional engines as the Wankel engine and the Nutating engine. The work explains the construction, operating principle, advantages and disadvantages. Due to the continuous improvement of structures of these engines they have the future prospects in the aviation industry.
