The Importance of Childhood Vaccination Against Infectious Diseases
Petríková, Zuzana ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor)
Because the immunization belongs among the most successful ways how to prevent infectious diseases, this thesis is specilized in finding out the level of parents' knowledge about the obligate and non - obligate childhood immnunization. The thesis is based on the theoretical findings about the immunization and the results of research, which was made by asking the respondents to fulfil the questionnaire. The results showed, that the parents are not looking for the information about childhood immunization very often. They rather rely on information heard from the paediatrist. That's why, we think paediatrists should offer a bigger amonut of information to parents by giving them some specific contacts (websides, prospectus or brochures).

Vaccination against tuberculosis in the Czech Republic
Neužilová, Anna ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor)
Tuberculosis is a serious infectious disease responsible for significant morbidity and mortality throughout the world. The Czech Republic ranks among countries with the world lowest incidences of tuberculosis, which is achieved by a very well conducted system of tuberculosis surveillance and control. This system includes vaccination of newborns against tuberculosis, whose preservation is currently a hot issue in the Czech Republic. In my thesis I focus on the adverse effects of the tuberculosis vaccine and the issue of current vaccination strategies. The thesis also contains a general chapter dealing with the immunological principals of vaccination, which is neccessary for proper understanding of how the vaccine works. Also included are chapters concerning the tuberculosis disease and its etiological agent, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The quoted information comes from the published results of international studies, and the quoted statistical data from the reports published by SÚKL, ÚZIS and WHO. The discussion on possible vaccination strategies, their risks and benefits, is based, among others, on declaration of the Czech professional medical associations, to whom it highly concerns. It can be concluded that, concerning low incidences of tuberculosis in the Czech Republic, along with a well conducted system...
Most frequently used vaccines in connection with traveling abroad
Olexová, Martina ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor)
The threat of the infectious diseases is still present and with the permanent increase of traveling all around the world it is getting more dangerous. In the thesis are listed the areas with increased appearance of the particular transmitted diseases and the options of their prevention. Besides the principles about vaccination in general there are mentioned the vaccination substances which are used in Czech Republic before traveling into foreign countries. By means of the questionnaire method I tried to survey the foreknowledge of population about the options of vaccination before their travel. The results of the research showed that the foreknowledge is high, however practically unused. The opinion that vaccination before traveling is important was dominant in all of the questioned groups. Despite of that less than third of the questioned people was vaccinated before their travel into a foreign country.
Elaboration of medical information using a computer program
Malaťák, Viktor ; Dáňová, Jana (advisor) ; Vávrová, Bronislava (referee)
Diploma work deals with possibilities of utilization of database application in clinical praxis of ambulances as well as hospital workplaces. Its aim was, in the first place, to prove and practically show that even the simple applications can essentially make the doctor's orientation in a huge amount of medical datas easier and find the needed one very quickly. In this diploma work, I occupy myself with application, which a database character is and it's made in platform Microsoft- Access which associates datas from many sources at once. In the first part I'm maping over the actual situation of programs, which have the database system, in the clinical utilization. I'm describing the present possibilities and programs which collect dates - I'm comparing their advantages and disadvantages. In the second part, I'm analysing the application itself and I'm specifing the aims. In the third part, which is practical mainly, I'm handling with describing the development of the first version of the program and programming itself. The applicationg is on the basic level and contains datas which were chosen from the publication of MUDr. Jana Dáňová Ph.D. - Vaccination in Czech Republic. In the future, the application can be enlarged on the other functions, for example, its substantiality, the possibility of excange the...
