Analysis of the influence of cellulose fibers in epoxy adhesive designed for wood structural elements bonding
Dvořáková, Martina ; Tupý, Michael (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the properties of epoxy resins, their reinforcing by thermoplastic modified epoxies, rubbers and cellulose fibers. The thesis also describes the production, properties and types of cellulose fibers. In the practical part of this thesis, there was executed reinforcement of epoxy matrix by different amounts of cellulose fibers. Mixing was performed in two ways – by a homogenizer or an ultrasonic homogenizer. There were also executed the tensile strength and shear strength tests to the manufactured conglomerates.
Evaluation of load-deformation characteristics of glued timber using DIC analysis
Šot, Michal ; Vejpustek,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The work deals with issues of evaluation of the shear properties of timber structural materials, particularly CLT elements. The work contains an overview of extensive research so far presented scientific studies dealing with the characteristic shear properties of wood. In the practical part was carried out the experiment dealing with the failure mode of transverse lamellae of CLT elements that were exposed to shear stress. There were observed individual effects that this may affect the material properties. In the first part of the experiment were performed numerical models using FEM. In the second part, the test specimens were tested in three point bending. Here, attention was paid to the influence of macroscopic properties of wood on the distribution of stress cracks and shear strength, the tests were recorded using DIC system.
Utilization of accelerated durability test of wood glued joints for consequent service-life prediction
Šmíra, David ; Tupý, Michael (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of my diploma thesis are methods which are able to describe durability aspects of glued wooden joints. The main objective are methods which primarily includes hygrothermal stress acting in the glued joint of wooden adherend and determine the service life of the specific glued joint by modelling based on Arrhenius relation and the other methods. Other part of this work is aimed to shear tests of the samples exposed to different thermal and humidity conditions and for individual sets of exposures determining the glue penetration depth into the wooden adherend by EPI fluorescent analysis. These analytic methods are used for quality check of the glued joints, which are mostly based on strength, chemical or structural parameters of the tested sample.
Properties of wood of different ages considering heat exposition
Helanová, Ester ; Hradil,, Petr (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis discusses the experimental verification of sorption and mechanical properties of fir wood from the 17th to 21th century. The wood of different ages is thermally treated with temperature of 60°C, 120°C and 180°C for a 17 hours. The effect of thermal treatment of wood on the isothermal sorption characteristics and compressive strength in fiber direction is evaluated.
Utilization of microscopic analysis for evaluation of glued wood
Kučera, Vít ; Krbila, Jaromír (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This paper addresses the issue of glued wood joints in terms of the types of adhesives. We will determine the depth of the penetration of adhesives into the structure of the wood adherend . For this purpose we use methods of optical microscopy and its special kind and fluorescence microscopy .
Optimizing requirements for wood coatings
Bednářová, Ilona ; Petránek, Vít (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The work deals with wood coating systems. It is focused on the theoretical division of paints due to different aspects, moreover on testing of wood coating systems. In the practical part of the work, the experimental work regarding the influence of weather conditions onto durability of different wood coatings system was preceded. They were compared two different coatings within the basic tests in different environments.
Assessment of the state of wood in the construction and evaluation of the usefulness of non-destructive testing methods
Munduchová, Markéta ; Vaněrek, Jan (referee) ; Brožovský, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis consists of theoretical and experimental part. In the theoretical part there are given findings regarding on structure of wood, its basic properties and durability. The following describes the wood defects, influence of wood pests and fungi, types of wooden structures, climatic conditions, chemical corrosion and mechanical damage to the wood. Evaluation of the status of wood in the structures is appropriate by using non-destructive methods, therefore was performed research articles on these methods. Non-destructive methods are used: visual, hardness tests, electrical, radiation, optical and moisture determination. Experimental part of the bachelor's thesis is focused on ultrasonic impulse method, that can detect defects or damage in the wood mass that depends on the speed of ultrasonic impulse. For a reliable interpretation of the results it is appropriate to combine non-destructive methods when assessing status of wood structure.
Application of non-destructive methods determining the quality of glued wood bondlines
Dvořáková, Martina ; Brožovský, Jiří (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The presented bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of timber elements by using non-destructive methods which are intended for the evaluation of glue lines. The main part of the work is focused on summarizing and the detailed description of selected non-destructive methods which can be used for glue line evaluation. There is also carried out the researche of selected scientific articles describing the application of non-destructive methods with regard to the evaluation of timber elements.
Test methodology for certification process of face product made from modified wood plastic composite (WPC)
Pokorná, Sofie ; Pospíšil,, Ladislav (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the description of testing methodology of facade gladding tile made from WPC modified by the fly ash addition. In the first part of the thesis, the properties and standard utilization of commercially produced WPC are specified, together with the material composition and their processing technology to final product. Withal, the basic information of the modifying admixture, that should improve the physical and mechanical characteristics of the designed gladding element, are provided. Following, the criteria, procedures and conditions are described for this component, that are required for granting the certificate of conformity, which allows the partial market. In the final section of the thesis, simple and clear table is developed, as an example of the default type tests.
