Design of shallow foundation using Penetration tests
Bastl, Jiří ; Fiala, Radek (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis focuses on the principle and implementation of penetration tests and search procedures using the test results of penetration test for design of shallow foundations. The purpose of this work is to compare the design of sallow foundations using conventional methods and computational methods based on the use of penetration tests. In the project TA04031092 – interpretation and correlation of dynamic and static penetration test, I worked with data on which I assembled and tested correlations between cohesion of clays and penetration resistance for the region and around Brno.
Waterpark Jeseník - selected geotechnical problems
Kučera, Jakub ; Fiala, Radek (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The bachelor thesis discusses the possible ways of establishing the basics of structures. Its main focus lays on foundation pads and piles. The practical part consists of finding a solution regarding two different approaches of the foundation of the waterslide in Aquapark Jeseník. Even though the proposed variants are calculated without the use of computational software, software GEO 5 is used to compare the results. The conclusion contains the comparison and evaluation of the results of both approaches.
Analysis of the requirements for Mobile Monitoring System foe elderly people living in home background
Hrabalová, Klára ; Fiala, Radek (advisor) ; Zeman, Miroslav (referee)
In the thesis the author deals with the Mobile Supervisory System Senior Inspect, which allows monitoring of elderly people living in home background. Monitoring makes use of biological and general technical values, which are wirelessly transported and digestedly displayed in a notebook monitor. The author focuses on the analysis of the requirements, she puts forward the metodology of aplications of the monitoring system. Next the author endeavours to determine the requirements of the monitoring system and extending the whole system. She describes the desk of Senior Inspect 24/7 and checklist created for it. At the conclusion of her thesis the author highlights use of the monitoring system. The findings of this thesis should help when the monitoring system is put into practice.
Concept of the Implementation of the Mobile Monitoring System in the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic
Caithaml, Vít ; Fiala, Radek (advisor) ; Koza, Zdeněk (referee)
The thesis concerns the mobile monitoring telemetry system and its implementation within the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. The object of the monitoring system is to give commanders an overview based on the monitoring of biological and technical values of the current mental and physical state of their soldiers and with the help of alarm limits to warn of abnormal readings of the monitored values. The system should help prevent injuries caused by exhaustion and should improve the combat efficiency of the whole unit. The thesis goes on to describe the concept of the system as a whole and the alignment of each seperate modul. The functionality of the system was verified through practical measurement. The results and findings throughout the thesis form the basis for the design of a second generation system and for modifications of the presented algorithms.
Návrh standardu pracovního prostředí pro organizace v 21. století
Fiala, Radek
Fiala, Draft of workspace standards for organizations of 21st century. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2018. The diploma thesis deals with the office working environment. It is looking into the issues of a particular company and deals with the optimization of selected areas within the workspace. The diploma thesis deals with the initial legislation, which is closely related to the layout of office space. The output of diploma thesis is the optimization of Kiwi.com's problem areas and draft of the working environment (workspace) standards for organizations of 21st century.
Automatic detection of zebra crossings from aerial images
Tomíček, Jiří ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Fiala, Radek (referee)
There are a number of studies that deal with detection of road network from image Remote Sensing data. However, little work has been done on algorithms for horizontal road signs detection from Remote Sensing data. On the other hand there are many papers that deal with horizontal road signs detection in the field of Computer vision. Theoretical part of master thesis sumarizes the methods that are used to detect objects from both, Remote Sensing and Computer vision data. In the practical part an algorithm of automatic Zebra-crossing detection based on Aerial Images and vector road layer is designed. Zebra-crossings are detected using matching of image with set of predefined patterns. Obtained set of potential objects is then filtred using geometric and relational criteria. At the end of this thesis, the proposed algorithm is validated and the results are discussed with literature. Key words: Zebra-crossing, Horizontal road signs, Image matching, Aerial images
Quasi-overconsolidation pressure of Brno Tegel determined by the oedometer test.
Černíková, Monika ; Boháč, Jan (advisor) ; Fiala, Radek (referee)
The present Diploma Thesis deals with overconsolidation of Brno Neogene Clay (Brno Tegel). It investigates whether the yield pressure pm' determined by the oedometer test is a direct measure of the overconsolidation of the soil or rather a combination of overconsolidation and diverse effects of ageing. Further it looks at the problem of determining the original thickness of Brno Tegel (depth of the erosion). The yield pressure was determined by standard oedometer tests on undisturbed specimens. In order to assess the effect of ageing on the structure of the clay, the concept of "intrinsic" properties from the literature was used, which was based on "Critical state soil mechanics". The additional testing and investigations needed for soil characterisation included the determination of consistency limits, grading curve, and the density determination by weighing under water. Clay minerals in selected specimens were determined by X-Ray diffraction analysis. The literature review clarified some geotechnical aspects of the development of postsedimentation structure of Brno Tegel.
