Selma Brandl: Die Moderne Reitschule, Der richtige Weg zur Harmonie im Sattel (chap. Dressur) - commented translation

The object of my bachelor thesis - which is a translation of a text about horse riding and its commentary - is to make a translation that could be published without many improvements in the magazine Jezdectví or on the website Equichannel. While translating, I followed the translation process of Jirí Levý which he describes in his book Umení prekladu. First, I analysed the original text according to Christiane Nord, then I looked for text parts difficult to translate. I analysed them in their broader context and I chose suitable Czech equivalents for them. During terminology translation, I followed the rules of Czech Equestrian Federation and other literature. Because there is not enough Czech written or into Czech translated literature about horse riding - especially about dressage - I would like to extend the literary basis of this sport. Dressage and horse riding in general are not as popular as e.g. in Germany that is why I try to address the recipient more strongly to get him interested in the text. The first part of my work is dedicated to the translation, in which I do not leave out translation of the picture legend; the second part deals with the analysis of the original text and in the last part I discuss translation problems that I had to solve and I confront the original text with the translation...

Expression and purification of kinase domain of ASK1 kinase.

The goal of this diploma thesis was to find optimal conditions for expression of ASK1 kinase in prokaryotic expression system and to optimize purification protocol which enables preparing of milligram amounts of stable and soluble protein. Different conditions of expression were tested in E. coli cells including temperature of expression, cultivation medium or the length of induction. Different methods of purification were tested during the development of the purification protocol. The final protocol is based on chelate chromatography followed by gel permeation chromatography. The result of the diploma thesis is a protocol that allows preparing 1 mg of pure ASK1 kinase from 1 liter of medium.

P2P lending

The aim of this bachelors thesis is to determine the effect of P2P lending on the economic indicators and the status of small and medium enterprises in the United States, specifically for the period form 2011 to 2015. To better understand the practical part, two first chapters will be focused on defining the concept of P2P lending and analysing the current situation in the United States. Besides that, it is also an emphasis on regulatory requirements which are newly starting to appear. This knowledge is later used in practical part, which analyse the state of SMEs and their way of financing, which makes them able to safeguard its economic growth and offer new job opportunities. All the essential facts, identified by market analysis, were described and evaluate in the overall summary.

The occupational pensions and their role in providing people of old age

This bachelor work focuses on such a product as occupational pensions in its former form and current version called additional pension savings. The first part is dedicated to the reasons of the pension reform in CR which occurred in parametric as well as in paradigmatic transformations of the whole pension system, which is described in the end of the part. Due to the goal of the work the progress of occupational pensions is being studied throughout recent years to evaluate and compare the pension funds from the aspect of their efficiency. An important attempt is the juridical comparison and evaluation of differences of those two variations. As well the work outlines the other alternatives of financial provisions in comparison with the third pillar.

Current issues in household insurance

The bachelor thesis focuses on the household insurance issues. The theoretical section clarifies a basic characteristic of property insurance with great emphasis on household insurance. Firstly, the practical section deals with matters of taking out insurance and factors which influence an insurance premium. Further, the emphasis is on up-to date issues in the household insurance market. The point at issue is underinsurance as well as a right level of insurance amount and insurance fraud. The thesis also clarifies processing insurance claims and the attitude of the insurance companies toward underinsured property. In conclusion, there is a questionnaire used to assess the main issues and to outline people's attitude toward protection their property.

Solutions of financial needs of retired people

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the matter of state retirement system and products of commercial domain that supply the state pension. The purpose of this thesis is to describe three pillars of the retirement system and to outline the alternatives of savings for retirement in the commercial domain. In the analytical part, the goal is to compare each product according to the sum of money that was saved up. In conclusion there are results of comparison and a recommendation of the best way of saving for a citizen.

The taxation of financial sector

The diploma thesis deals with the taxation of financial institutions focused on European Union. The thesis provides a short view on the inception of financial crisis in USA and the costs spent by national governments on rescue of systemic important institutions on the market. The history of banking tax concept is briefly summarized on theoretical level and also two real historical examples of taxation in financial sector are provided. The main part of the work is focused on the current proposal of European Commission and the impact of its implementation. The practical part of diploma thesis is based on particular model examples how this proposal would work in practice.

Old age security in the context of the pension reform

The diploma thesis deals with the pension system of the Czech Republic in the context of the pension reform. It responds to the issues of unfavorable demographic developments. The starting point of the thesis is theoretical description of the classification of the pension systems. The attention paids to the characteristics of the pension system in the Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis analyzes individual pillars and highlights the changes caused by the pension reform. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of the profitability of the funds of the third pillar, the calculation of the pensions from the first pillar pensions arising from comparing each of the three pillars of the pension reforms and proposals of the pension reforms. The aim is to analyze certain issues and evaluate how the pension reform was successful.

Current trends in the insurance markets

This dissertation deals with current trends in insurance. The aim of this thesis is to find the development trends, which have affected the insurace market the most in the last years. The first chapter is focused on the implementation of regulatory projects in insurace main Solvency II. The second part of disertation familiarizes the trends in the products of life and non-life insurace. At the end of this dissertation, there is the prognosis of the future development in insurance.
