Well log analysis for sedimentary formation evaluation

3 ABSTRACT The work is focused on analysis of five structural well profiles penetrating sediments of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin and the underlying Upper Palaeozoic continental basins to the crystalline basement. The objectives of well profile analysis are sedimentary formation evaluation from well log analysis and statistical analysis and evaluation of some physical properties of sedimentary rocks, which have been determined by measurements of drill cores. The aim of the work is to verify the possibility of porosity evaluation from well log analysis in the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin and the underlying Upper Palaeozoic continental basins. The next aim is to compare different geological environments with respect to physical properties of rocks. The content of the work involves presentation of well log curves, computation of porosity values and comparison between the resulting values of porosity from resistivity log, acoustic log and neutron-neutron log and from laboratory measurements of drill core samples. Data from five deep structural wells are used. Paul's conversion and its possible psychological interpretations

This diploma thesis aims for broad issue religious conversion especially in the case of the Apostle Paul. It is psychological and theological reflection of his conversion to Christianity, as described by the canonical New Testament texts. The forepartof the thesis reports theoretically into the location of the conversion of the Apostle Paul in the Acts of the Apostles and Paul's epistles. For the purpose of this diploma thesis the author describes briefly hagiotherapy method, a technique that combines knowledge of psychology and theology. The author focuses on the psychological perspective on religious conversion, its history and current state of research. The closing section of the thesis combines views of psychology and theology. Apostle Paul and the Roman Law

Apoštol Pavel a římské zákony Apostle Paul and the Roman Law bc. Ladislava Říhová The thesis deals with problematics associated with the life and first of all with Apostle PaulVs Roman citizenship. The first chapter contains a brief description of PaulVs life which de facto makes the outline of the whole work. Special attention is being paid to PaulVs origin, his education and last but not least to his conversion to Christianity. Noticed is also PaulVs missionary activity and his end. In the second part of the first chapter there is discussed the view of the Scipture on the Roman citizenship of the Apostle, supplemented with a historical excursus about the history of Roman citizenship as such taking into special consideration the time of Paul's life i.e. the time of the Early Principate. Of course, the possibility of the Apostle's double citizenship is mentioned. From Paul's civil state follow necessarily his rights which form his further destiny. In particular there are concerned Paul's iudicial proceedings which are extensively discussed in the Acts of the Apostles. Epiphany in the hellenistic world and in relation to the New Testament

The thesis deals with the description and understanding of the functioning of epiphany in Hellenism and the New Testament to determine the relationship to Hellenistic epiphany. The concept of epiphany and subsequent findings will be thoroughly analyzed and they will be used to redefine the term epiphany as suitable for research and analytical purposes. The thesis attempts to answer the question, for what purposes epiphany served, which conveys and what discourses occupied a place in the Hellenistic and New Testament understanding of the world. The submitted thesis attempts to outline the relationship between epiphany and magic, cult, mysterious religions, religious experience, diviners, Emperor and other major components of the Hellenistic world. The aim is to introduce the epiphany as a multifaceted, multi-functional concept, whose analysis terminating in the religious culture will describe much of self-understanding of the culture.

Old Testament Interpretation and the Postmodern Conditions

The task of diploma thesis "Old Testament Interpretation and the Postmodern Conditions" is to critically reflect the course and current issues of Old Testament research. This reflection is based on the analysis of research situation and chosen approaches to the Old Testament. The thesis shows, that the Old Testament interpretation must be based on lively dialogue. It doesn't mean just the dialogue with the biblical texts or the state of current research, but also with the situation of the world often called as "postmodern". The important assumption of this diploma thesis is that the authentic interpretation includes also the constant and deep self-examination of interpreter and his place in the society. It doesn't mean, that the interpretation ought to be the self-presentation of interpreter. On the contrary, it should remain critical and solid, but also enacted in deep solidarity with the neighbour and shared world. The results of this diploma thesis show the importance of keeping the critical grounds of Old Testament research and interpretation. Only the intensive and unappealing criticism could be a basis for the future quality and solidness of the research and upholding its matter in wider research community and society.
