Distribution Network Development and Configuration
Pospíšil, Petr ; Beneš, Jan (referee) ; Topolánek, David (advisor)
The theme of this master‘s thesis is distribution network development and configuration in the part of Brno – Trnitá. There is expected to be investments there in the next few years. The thesis consists of two parts. For better understanding of this problem, the first theoretical part concerns with the description of electrical network (subdivision in accordance with voltage levels, conductor types, network types and other electrical network parts), solution of grid’s steady state (as a linear task and also non-linear task, elimination of the balancing node, the iterative method) and Brno distribution network characteristics. The second part concerns with distribution network development and configuration depending on anticipated load development in Trnitá. The result is proposal for transformer station construction Opuštěná fitted with three transformers of nominal output SN = 40 MVA and network configuration change required both for providing new consumption supply as well as sustaining current one.
Earth Faults Protections
Ostruška, Jan ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
The thesis deals with wattmetric and conductance principle of faulted feeder detection in medium voltage compensated distribution networks. These principles are analysed and tested with particular emphasis on high impedance earth faults. The first part of testing utilizes data about state of the system with earth fault, which was determined by designed static model of earth fault. The testing in the second part utilizes real records of high impedance earth faults. In both parts the wattmetric and conductance protections was presented on protective relays ABB REF 615, ABB REM 543 and Protection&Consulting RYo by means of unit OMICRON CMC 256plus. As a major result of performed tests are records of detection of particular earth faults. Based on these records it could be concluded, that functionality of protections is substantially dependent on magnitude of zero sequence voltage. Furthermore the wattmetric protections are dependent on fault resistance as well.

Project of Communication for Distance Protections 7SA 610 Protecting a Transmission Line
Bartko, Jan ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
This work describes the structure and function of the distance protection relay Siemens 7SA610 SIPROTEC and presents the basic theoretical knowledge of the communication standard IEC 61850 at the beginning. It focuses on the configuration of the topology of two 7SA610 distance protection relays, PC and secondary relay test set Omicron CMC256 +. These two distance protection relays were programmed by using software implement DIGSI to transmit and receive GOOSE messages. It served to testing this created network by simple function. Computer and tester simulated the control system and commanded auto-reclosure to the first distance protection. Instruction was processed and also sended to the second distance protection. The final objective was to measure the tranfer time of GOOSE message between two distance protection relays. There was used a secondary tester. This measurement was implemented the tester Omicron CMC 256 +, which involves extending the NET-1 and so is compatible with the standard IEC 61850. The results and further actions are summarized in conclusion.
Probabilistic approach for evaluation of the safety of earthing systems
Klíč, Tomáš ; Vyčítal, Václav (referee) ; Topolánek, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with the grounding systems, namely their evaluation in terms of safety. The introduction describes the grounding theory, the principle reason for their use, and the difference between the current evaluation method of grounding systems in terms of security against electric shock and a new approach. Another part is devoted to describing the assessment of grounding systems in terms of safety, respectively. permissible touch and step voltages using currently based ČSN and PNE. Another essential part of the theoretical description of how to assess safety of grounding systems in terms of probabilities, consisting in determining the probability of death of a person, including the probability of failure and the probability of a man close to the rated grounding system during the disturbances, and classify the probability tolerable, moderately tolerable or intolerable and if necessary, assign the risk group appropriate solutions to mitigate the risks. The work, of course, the practical part. Designed for probabilistic approach will be processed illustrative example of evaluation chosen grounding system, which would be the basis for the negotiation of an international group CIRED / CIGRE focused on this issue.
Measurement of grounding system HV/LV and touch voltages around distribution transformer station
Sítař, Martin ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Kopička, Marek (advisor)
This work deals with the measurement of earth resistance of grounding system and verification of touch voltages around outlying, suburban and urban distribution transformer stations and HV masts. When designing the grounding systems certain specific requirements for performance and safety are required. The aim is to practically verify earthing resistances at selected distribution transformer stations and HV masts of power line. Another objective of this work is assessment of the maximum possible touch voltages during fault conditions in these selected HV systems and to produce technical report which includes test results and final evaluation in compliance with valid standards.
Design of protection system using an sensor technology in MV substation
Strapko, Miroslav ; Prokop, Václav (referee) ; Topolánek, David (advisor)
Master's thesis deals with use of electronic instrument transformers (sensors) in the protection system in medium-voltage substation. Substation consists of 2 incoming feeders, 2 outgoing feeders for motors, 2 outgoing feeders for power transformers, measuring, bus coupler and bus riser feeder. Incoming feeders are connected to distribution system E.ON by cable lines which were proposed. Protected machines (power transformers and motors with rated power) are connected to switchgear panels of UniGear ZS1 type by cable lines too. Proposed protection system is based on the short-circuit conditions, standard CSN 33 3051 recommendations as well as theoretical backgrounds acquired from technical papers and other publicated literature according to the bibliography. For selected protection functions are defined their parameters. Control, monitoring and protection functions provides REF 542plus relay. Consequently, secondary tests which are part of the commissioning, are given in the practical part of thesis. Secondary tests were performed by relay test system FREJA 300 by Megger. Results of tests are displayed in tripping characteristics.
Evaluation of Possibility of New Source Connection With Regard to Nodal Voltage
Němec, Jan ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
Connection new source of electrical energy into distribution network is important for existing one for reasons its rating and dimensioning. It is even evaluate, whether possibility connection new source in to network is real and do not endanger continuous running distribution system. This work has shown, what conditions are need realize for connection source into distribution network in view of voltage ratio. Next it must incidence harmonic current and affecting centralized telecontrol signal about reasoning. Against a background examination connection source are administrative acts, which forms basis of successful connection. On basis lets request of connection mostly study of connection working up. This study contains concrete calculation and examination individual factors for connection new source. Next put mind to connection wind power station, because wind power stations are very special source for connection into distribution network. Bigger demands are putting on them and stricter examination of connection to site must be done. Because during time unit (day, week and month) they have various strain diagram. Which makes higher straining of distribution and necessity have reserve of electrical energy for case fail wind power station owing to windless ness. In the end, there is referred to practical examination example of possibility connecting. As this example was chosen examination of wind park to 110 kW network with 32 MVA installed power from view of voltage ratio. Solution process is given by replacement of part of given Picells link and by calculation steady state of node site system with Gauss-Seidels iteration method. After that follows evaluation of voltage change in the site before and after connection of source to the network, which can not be higher than 2%. In this example is this condition satisfied and from a view of voltage ratio there is nothing to obstruct for connection new source to network.
