Approximation function implementation into PIC microprocessor
Petřík, Tomáš ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Šmirg, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis deals with the implementation of approximation function into the PIC microprocessor. Thesis is focused on microprocessor architecture and analysis of approximation functions. Then for actual implementation is chosen the method of least squares, and because of its relative simplicity and accuracy in comparison with other methods. Microcontroller is using the A/D converter to measure the dependence of non-linear system, which is connected to the microprocessor. Measure the voltage on a logarithmic potentiometer, which represents non-linear system, depending on the position of the slider track resistance. Then, using the method chosen microprocessor calculates the characteristic non-linear system. The measured values are compared with the theoretical, calculated the chosen method. The values measured, and their theoretical difference is then displayed on the display, connected to the microprocessor. In conclusion, then discuss the results together with the possibility of further developing this work.
Digital filter for acoustic band, implemented by microcontroller
Hudec, Antonín ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Kubánek, David (advisor)
Microcontrollers of the ATmega family are not very suitable for real-time digital signal processing. Although they can reach 20 MIPS with maximum clocking of 20 MHz (most of the instructions are within one clock cycle), ATmega has just one 8bit multiplier unit, which is too little for demanding tasks like real-time digital signal filtration. My objective is to find out whether it is possible to filter digital signal with ATmega. If the answer is yes, what is the maximum sampling rate and what output quality can be achieved.
Audio module on BeagleBone AI
Benko, Karel ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Sysel, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a schematics and a printed circuit board expanding the input and output possibilities of the Beaglebone AI development kit for audio signal processing. The introduction is getting acquainted with the Beaglebone AI development kit and the TI Sitara AM5729 processor placed on it. Furthermore, the work acquaints the reader with used communication interfaces I2C and McASP and their principles of operation. Based on the selected parameters, suitable components were selected, and schematics was created, which was then used to design and implement a printed circuit board. The audio module designed in this way was then tested with a development kit.
Comparison of voice and audio codecs
Lúdik, Michal ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Míča, Ivan (advisor)
This thesis deals with description of human hearing, audio and speech codecs, description of objective measure of quality and practical comparison of codecs. Chapter about audio codecs consists of description of lossless codec FLAC and lossy codecs MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. In chapter about speech codecs is description of linear predictive coding and G.729 and OPUS codecs. Evaluation of quality consists of description of segmental signal-to- noise ratio and perceptual evaluation of quality – WSS and PESQ. Last chapter deals with description od practical part of this thesis, that is comparison of memory and time consumption of audio codecs and perceptual evaluation of speech codecs quality.
Control software for system of post-process nanostructure deposition
Brabec, Luboš ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Hubálek, Jaromír (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with problematics of technological processes and techniques for modification of microelectrodes with nanostructures. Furthermore, it describes a device needed for automated providing processes, communication with computer and of controlling system for all functions. These devices communicate through RS-232 and USB interfaces. Developed programmeg control communicates from PC with all devices and it creates interface for user enabling to set parameters of all processes followed by their providing without user supervision.
Identification of Speech Activity in Noisy Speech Signal
Pelikán, Martin ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
This paper is focused on identification of pauses in noisy speech signal and following filtering of the noise from the signal. Firstly the signal processing methods are theoretically described, then voice activity detectors and in the end noise filtering methods are described. Several voice activity detectors were created and their pause detection rate was compared.
Web applications supporting education of 2D computer graphics
Drápela, Zbyněk ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with two-dimensional computer graphics. Specifically, Bézier curves, increasing their degree without changing their shape and performing subdivision. Furthermore, the Catmull--Clark subdivision algorithm and synthesis of procedural textures. The work aimed to describe the theoretical basis of these areas and to create four web applets using JavaScript and HTML, which will be used as an aid in teaching computer graphics.
Narrowband Power Line Communication with Yitran module
Chernikau, Ivan ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on a narrowband data transmission over power lines. At first, possibilities of the narrowband data transmission over power lines were described. Then we focused on the properties of a narrowband modem Yitran IT700. A communication between modems was tested in different modes. Different dependences were measured (dependence of the data transmission speed on the distance, dependence of the error percentage on the distance and on the impedance). Experiments took place on the usual power lines at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering BUT in the building T12. Then an application for remote control of a relay through power lines on the base of PLC communication and Yitran modems was designed and implemented.
IP Phone Implementation on Development Kit ATSTK1000
Böhm, Karel ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sysel, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the implementation of IP phone on development kit Atmel ATSTK1000. At the beginning, there is an introduction with properties, hardware and software equipment of the development kit which is used to development of embedded devices. The next part introduces with open sources IP phones, with their characteristics and requirements. The conclusion is devoted to cross-compilation of the selected IP phone and its operation on the development kit ATSTK1000.
Network Voice Message Box
Dítě, Miroslav ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
In this Master's thesis a power line communication is shortly described and the scheme of the communication system is realized. The communication device is called NVMB. This abbreviation means Network Voice Message Box. It should be used for transfer of the voice message via power line. It enables its recording, playback and sending. A process of the scheme design is created, functionality of the device is realized and reviewed in the main part of the Master's thesis. The other chapter of the thesis is devoted to the software communication system.
