Protection of foreign investments by international law

This thesis focuses on legal protection afforded to foreign investments by international law. Its aim is to survey impartially the sources of international investment law, provide some insight into the procedural mechanisms by means of which the guaranteed standards of treatment and protection of investments are enforced, and analyze the relation of this specific branch of international law to the law of the EU. In its first part, the thesis defines the term foreign investment from both economic and legal point of view, so that it delimites the object of the branch of law which is being studied. In the second part it adresses the sources of international investment law, trying to underline the specific role of the usually overlooked noncontractual sources.The third part summarizes the methods of investment dispute resolution. The final part analyzes the interference of the law of the EU and the international investment law and tries to provide unbiased answers to the questions brought up by the adoption of the Lisbon Treaty in this field.

Oddlužení jako způsob řešení úpadku

The Bachelor's thesis deals with the discharge of debts of a natural person which is governed by the Act No.182/2006 Coll., on Insolvency and Methods of Resolution (the Insolvency Act) and that came into force on January 1st 2008. The aim of this thesis is to provide a fundamental analysis of this non-eliminative method of resolving insolvency and the underlying issues are illustrated by the rulings of the high courts and the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic. The last chapter is devoted to the collective debt relief of the husband and wife, whose bankruptcy estate belongs to community property; this issue is practically created by the practice of the insolvency courts, because the Insolvency Act does not introduce it.

Marketing Strategy of the Spa Lázně Poděbrady

This thesis analyzes current situation of the Czech spa industry and significant changes in this field in relation to the planned health care reforms. The number of patients, whose treatment is fully funded by health insurance, will decline. These payments are important income for Czech spas. Practical part of the thesis is focused on spa marketing and suggests marketing strategy for the company Lázně Poděbrady adapted to the new economic environment.

The thesis provides comprehensive overview of financial placement in insurance companies including practical aspects and assessment of impact of financial crisis on investment strategy of insurance companies. The aim is to emphasise importance of statutory audit as a guarantee of trueness and fairness of financial statements. The thesis also describes most common audit methods applied in financial placement area.

Reorganization - new way of bankruptcy resolution

The thesis summarizes the legislation of reorganization as a method of bankruptcy resolution. First of all, the historical development of bankruptcy law in our country is described, as well as the current legislation, established primarily by the Insolvency Act and other regulations. The economic reasons for reorganization implementation are analyzed subsequently and the very principles of the reorganization process are thoroughly examined. Various methods of unliquidated bankruptcy resolution in selected countries are briefly covered in the next section of the paper. Conclusion of the thesis highlights the most relevant information about reorganization and points out problematic situations, which may occur in connection with it.

Diplomová práce je zeměřena na vyhodnocení projektu se zahrnutím flexibility rozhodování prostřednictvím reálných opcí. Teoretická část shrnuje poznatky z reálných a finančních opcí a dále popisuje implementaci reálně opčního přístupu do investičního rozhodování. Aplikační část vyhodnocuje skutečný investiční projekt podle uvedené metodiky.
